GRAHAM COXON Born March 12th 1969 - the youngest member of Blur. Born in a military hospital in Hanover, Germany. Moved to England when he was five. Attended Stanway Comprehensive School in Colchester, Essex. Immersed himself in music and at age 12 taught himself guitar and saxophone. After graduating from the North Essex School of Arts, he enroled at London's Goldsmiths College to study the fine art's. It was here he met Alex James, who roomed in the above floor of the college's Halls of Residence. While there formed a curious art movement/philosophy with Alex known as 'Nichtkunst', which translated from German reads 'Not Art'.

The first song he learned on guitar was 'Aunties and Uncles' by British Mod trio The Jam. In the bands early days was a heavy drinker, one story recounting him being hit by a car while drunk and not even knowing about it. His father, Bob Coxon played the saxophone and was an army bandsman, his mother Pauline worked for Nestlé and British Gas amongst other things. Was advised to give up drinking and penned the song 'You're So Great' (from the 'blur' album) which delt with his expreience in giving up the sauce. Once had a cat named 'Bastard' (I kid you not), which run away (too much U.S hardcore, perhaps?) Like every other member of the band his only other sibling is his sister Hayley, a nurse by proffesion.

Played saxophone on the Sleeper single 'Vegas'. Has released two solo albums to date, 98's 'The Sky Is Too High' and 2000's 'The Golden D'. All instruments on both albums performed by Graham only. 'The Golden D' is (supposedly) a reference to Graham's favourite guitar chord . A keen artist, Graham has designed artwork for the '13' album and subsequent single releases. He also did the artwork for Food labelmates Idlewild's fist single 'Film For The Future'. Founder and owner of 'Transcopic' records. Has a newly born baby girlwith girlfriend Anna, named Pepper Troy Bäk Coxon.
