It all started out in Twenty 4 Seven.
Nance Coolen was just 17 years old when she joined the
Dutch eurodance act. In 1995 she left Twenty 4 Seven and since then she's had 4 successful
solosingles.The first single she released as a solosinger was a catchy track called "Love Is...". This song was the title track of a television dating program for teenagers called.... Love Is...! It hit the Dutch top 10 after a slow start.
The second was a real big chart buster. "Big Brother Is Watching You!" is a happy hardcore track produced by the Digidance production team, who are also known as The Klubbheads. These producers were also responsible for the big success of DJ Paul Elstak, The Ultimate Seduction, The Klubbheads, Triple S & Chiara! They also did some brilliant happy hardcore remixes of two 2 Unlimited songs ("Jump For Joy" and "Spread Your Love") and one 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor song ("Come Take My Hand"). "Big Brother Is Watching You" became an instant top 10 hit.
Nance's third single, also produced by Digidance, was called "Kiss It".
The video for this track was shot in Monaco, and it features Nance as princess Stephanie. In the
video she's being deceived by her boyfriend. She's got pictures of her boyfriend making love to
another woman prove it. If you don't like naked men running around your television screen, then
don't watch the video!!! But mind you... this video was voted best video of 1997 by the Dutch!
This song is a typical happy hardcore song, which sounds a little bit like Chiara's "Guardian
Angel". But Nance's song is slightly more energetic with several different main hooks
and driving basslines.
Nance's fourth single is called "He's My Favorite DJ" and for this single she has completely changed her music style!! "He's My Favorite DJ" is a catchy pop tune with a strong R&B/Swingbeat flavour. The single was produced by Cooly D who has also produced remixes for the 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor> and Twenty 4 Seven. But he is most known for his work for Flip Da Scrip.
The video to this clip sees Nance as a psychotic girl who's got a crush on a DJ. This crush eventually turns into an obsession... And then on one night she sees him fooling around with two girls... Nance goes crazy when seeing this... I think you can guess what happens next... can't you?
