Dead can Dance Jen's Mix
0750

It was raining this morning...lightning too -- it was far away though, no thunderclaps with it...
In any case PT was canceled which is why I am here again my journal.  Got a few things accomplished yesterday, changed my oil, laundry, dropped of my BDUs at the dry cleaners, etc.  I FINALLY went out to see the "new" bond flick, The world is not Enough...good movie.  The only 007 movie that ever let me down was
On her Majesties Secret Service, and that was because the actor they had for it sucked eggs...

I don't know what the name of the women in the movie, "Christmas"...but she was HOT too...One really tastefull thing about bond flicks is that sex is always inferred but never shown, nor nudity...good clean entertainment...of course, with all the innuedos, especially with today's audience...Just about every bond flick I sit there wishing I could  see the women naked though...This gal was no different...wowsers!

Picked up a couple TA-50 items at a surplus store yesterday as well...they had this "clearance" box fukll of different knives too.  I picked up this cool fake scrimsaw fold out and an even cooler dirk...best part is, the lady only rang up one of them :)

Today I hafta go over to Fort Bragg HQ to drop off some paperwork...very high profile building...generals and colonels and everything.  If I wasn't so intimately involved with the command group I'd feel intimidated...I went Friday but the office I needed to go to was already shut down...

Talked with Mom and Dad last night...they called jus tas I was getting offline to check email, or maybe I was actually already off, I dunno -- message on my voicemail...which has a lovely habit of burying messages for who knows how long.  Anyways that was at 2330 so I called back and ended up going to bed finally about 0030.  I just wish they'd called a bit earlier...Funny thing is, I felt plenty well rested when I rolled outta bed this morning...

I've been looking for a place to order a print of "Raft of the Medusa" by Theodore Gericault, but no luck.  I have been able to find scans online at least...but all I've seen disturb me...I swear there is a bit more painting than I'm seeing in these scans--the old man leanign off the raft in the lower right corner-I swear that figure was not cut off in the original painting like he is in the scan...but I dunno; been a long time since I've seen an original print.
Ah well, guess I just hafta go to the Louvre in Paris and find out for sure...Seriously though, that is one more dream of mine--to go to the Louvre, and, moreover, to see this painting firsthand in person, in the flesh--see the mammoth nature of it (it's like 20 by 16 feet)...seeing scaled down prints just simply will never measure up in the face of such commanding, dominating, awe inspiring size...

Oh but it's gonna be a busy day--got lots to train Smith on for my subsequent move to 519th...

Oh lordy--this binary dating is so weird...
