Smashing Punpkins Siamese Dream

Am I playing Pumpkins now, this early on a saturday morning, because my hopes of a May 8th Orlando show will not be interrupted by a pack of fucking druggees and their consequent courts-martials?  No, I am not.  I wish I was.

But, the matter at hand...Yes, I am awake and have been for three hours already.  Why?  Because yesterday, which was a training holiday because of Easter being Tomorrow, I spent mostly asleep due to a recent illness procured Tuesday whilst playing soccer, in shorts in the cold, and getting wet and gloriously dirty in the mud pits and puddles while doing so.  Smart?  No.  Fun?  Most definitely!  But this weekend then, I pay the price.

And my frickin computer decided to screw it's 32 bit mode drive drivers around so I had to tweak for two solid days in order to discover that I could delete a file (Esdi_506.pdr) which would force a work-around on those drivers w/o losing full access to any of my other drives.  Yeah for me.  I feel so empowered.  It's a temporary fix though, as my standard CDrom drive is currently disabled..my scsi dvd and cd-r are fine...The important thing is that my computer is running like a 700mhz again, and not a 25mhz...yes, it was really that bad!

At least it was an OK work week--being only three dasy logn had a lot to do with that.  Played golf and saw High Fidelity Monday...a pretty cool movie.  Not as great as I'd hoped, but I still enjoyed it. Can never go wrong with John Cusack.  A nice thought...it was a private screening as I was the only one in the theatre...

The Spies thing tuesday didn't go--it was too windy once we got out to the Landing Zone (LZ).  Supposesd to be rescheduled--we'll see.  I wasn't complaining any--it was cold out there, I was coughing, my legs hurts from being kicked around at soccer, my shoulder hurt from the moshpit Saturday, and I was hungry...

Won a couple auctions on Ebay recently--both for Theodore Gericault art material.  One is an old, smallish (9x12) old print of his "Medusa" (my favorite piece of art ever) and the second is an art book from an exhibit LA mfa ran of him back in 1971...with S&H I got both for under ten dollars total!  Score!

Have added another page or two or so to my current short story.  And I've been combing through my old entries lately, in an effort to update the poetry section of the "literature?" page...for the past year I haven't put anything down except in the entries...Some of it isn't half bad I think.  Once I'm done with that I'll post a direct link.  While I have been at it, I've foudn myself correcting a lot of inaccurate links on the archives page...seems a good number of them where still directed at the earthlink site--resulting in 404 errors since I had to remove the archives material from earthlink to fit under the 6meg limit...

See!  I do administrative duties once in a while!  Just maybe I'll change this background some time too...seems too cheery for me or something...I dunno.  It's just wearing on me.  But I think having a different background every day or two is starting to wear on me also...if it reflected the mood of the entry, which is rarely does, it would be something different...

Currently splitting a MPEG-1 file of SLC punk! into two files so I can put it on CD.  It was  really good movie I rented on DVD from Blockbuster so I wanted to have a copy...even if in a lossy format...Haven't quite perfected the art of making VCDs or SVCDs...

so yeah, it's been the same old cough up crap, blow my nose a lot thing the past couple days.  I'm hoping I'll be back to 90% by mondays PT run.

that's it for now.
