Hello Mates! I saw The Damned, The Glorious Damned at the Coney Island High Club in New York City on Thursday February 5th and Friday February 6th. Just saw the Damned here in Atlanta. The show was great, of course, with the Captain in all his bum-baring glory... Songs that were paticuraly outstanding- "Curtain Call", "Ignite", and "Shadow of Love", although all songs were carried off extremely well. The crowd here was a good mix of old-school and new fans, although some of the punks gave the band a hard time about playing some of their more "melodic" songs...I enjoyed them all, and urge anyone wondering if they can still pull it off to go and see for yourself- you won't be disappointed!!!!

I also LOVE the 1st(and 2nd,am I the only one?)LP 's dearly, but I think their '79-'83 output rivals ANY band's,EVER,and that the creativity on display on said LP 's is staggering! I saw The Damned twice in April 97 - ANU Canberra (Australia) and then the gig at Waves in Wollongong a few days later. I was also present at 'Holidays in the Sun' 3 dayer, Blackpool Wintergardens August 1996. I want to see a lineup that includes Brian Ja es and Algy. Cheers.

I agree that Totally Damned is the main Damned page on the net now. I've been going to Damned gigs & buying their records for 18 years now. I've enjoyed every "era" - just don't like it when they disappear. Current line up is well worth seeing, last few gigs of Rat's last line up were a bit low key in comparison, still love the album though !

IMPORTANT!! On November 29, The Damned's van was stolen along with all of their equipment! The van was recovered, but all of the equipment was gone. The missing gear is as follows: Light blue Hamer guitar (locking tremelo system) currently with pretty flower stickers on. Red Yamaha MSG/Image guitar (locking tremelo system) with a couple of repaired dents on the body. Black and white Hohner 'stratacaster' copy with tremelo arm. Crate G80XL 1 by 12 combo amplifier, serial no G8XUD 30088 Crate 3 channel 1 by 15 keyboard combo amplifier Boss ME8 guitar multi effects pedal Dunlop 'cry baby' wah wah pedal large 4 by 12 speaker cabinet with CND logo on it when stolen Emu 'classic keys' midi keyboard module a set of black drums a Korg keyboard If anyone has any information of the location of the equipment or if you see any equipment fitting this description being sold or passed around in the BIRMINGHAM AREA as well as the surrounding areas, please contact me. I bought a rat and named it Scabies in honor of the Rat. My rat is cool.....and we listen to the Damned together. My little short-haired, shiny coated black kitten is missing though...it makes me sad because it was my favoritest kitty ever. I could loo at her and meow and she would come running up to me to jump on my lap.....i swear we could communicate.....hmmm...this part's the emotional part, so i'll quit on it before i start dwelling on the disappearance for too long. We listened to the DAmned tog ther too....she would go right up to the disc player and start staring at the speakers while i was playing their cds....sometimes, anyways. Since she was all black, i'd take some of my white face paint and put a streak beside her ear so she'd have a hair o just like DAve's .......it was fun. Damned members which are fine: Dave, the CAptain, Algy,.....hmmm... i think that's it.....but...the CAptain is my hero...he is the greatest role model for young weirdos like me....i look up to the CAptain because he does things that nobody else does and doesn't care if anybody thinks he's a "wanker" for it........that is the attitude to have.....er something like that....hehahhaeheh!!!!!
