The story behind:
In February 1993 I read the Queen Fanclub magazine and found another Queen Top
10 Single chart in it. I decided that it was time to publish a complete chart
with the overall choice of the fans. That month I wrote a computerprogramme to
keep track of the scores and I asked all my friends to give me their favourite
top 5 of Queen singles. I wrote a request for the Fanclub magazine and within
2 months I received more than 100 top 5's from different countries in the world.
There are 18.000 fanclubmembers, so 100+ top 5's was quite disappointing. I
wrote another 2 requests which brought the total to over 400 top 5's from almost
every corner of world! Also I collected top 5's during Queenparties like the
conventions in England and Holland. In total I got 714 top 5's. It took me 2.5
years to get all those votes and although that is a lot, compared with the
amount of fanclub members it is sad that so little people reacted!
143 Queensongs were voted for. It took me hundreds of hours of entering the
data into the computer, collecting all those top 5's at parties, making top 5
forms, programming the computer, making new chartlists ect. etc.!
The result of all that input is down here. This list shows the overall
taste of fans. So, if you don't agree with the top 10 for instance,
that's because we all have our different taste of Queensongs, right?
