BATTLE OF THE BANDS

On the flyer it said "Battle of the Bands", but it was hardly that. There was no contest or anything. The school just used us to make money. Anyway, this was the biggest crowd we ever played in front of. We were on a real stage and there was professional lighting and everything. When we first got there, we had to get DJ Elevate's tables plugged into the P/A, but there was a problem. He didn't have the right RCA jacks to fit into it, so we couldn't hear him. 15 minutes to show time and no Anthony. He went to Music Central about 10 miles away to get a jack. We were all getting a bit nervous, but we set up all our equipment. 10 minutes too show time. We were all standing behind the curtain waiting to get announced and me (Mal) and J-Dawg decided to do a sound check and played a part of "Root" and a part of "Engine Number 9" by Deftones. The crowd seemed to get into it...or so I'm told. We couldn't even see the crowd because of the curtain. 5 minutes to show time and no Anthony. We had to go on without him. We would have to postpone "Breakdown"(a song with just Ant, Josh, and J) untill he came back. Ant was supossed to play with us in the first song, but couldn't do to him getting the adapter. Well the curtain opened and we were greeted with a great applause. We started off the set with "Game of Life" and it was awsome. The crowd responded totally great. The next song was "Punk Rock Summer", we dedicated it to our boy George(P.R.T). The crowd loved it. We were going to start our third song and still no Ant. We played "Governmental Guinea-Pig" and the crowd loved it. Right near the end, Ant walked in and got on stage. After he got his shit hooked up, we introduced him and they started "Breakdown". Me and Joel just went off stage and got something to drink. After that, we played "Malaga, NJ" and the Crew went nuts. People crammed against the stage singing the chorus into the microphone. That was best version of the song we ever did. The energy was amazing. The next song was Pennywise's "Bro Hymn". The crowd was totally into that song to. The last song of the night was our newest song called "Sick Of It All". A new song but nicely played. J's drums kept fucking up but me and Josh covered it up by breaking it down alot. After we were done, we had a great applause. Our set list was:

1) Game Of Life
2) Punk Rock Summer
3) Governmental Guinea Pig
4) Breakdown
5) Malaga, NJ
6) Bro Hymn
7) Sick Of It All

I have to say it was the best show we had done, and since we got publicity from it...we will have more shows. We were even in the local paper. Click HERE. to read the article in full. (I scanned it in, so it's a picture).
