Here's one of how they used to load the logs.  Pretty dangerous; still is but the equipment is 500%better.

This is quite a log(considering the ones in the cattle picture seemed
large for your parts!).  It used to be common, even through my high
school years but not now, to see a three log load...  A 3log load was VERY impressive - now, even second growth that gets that big is considered "old growth" by the stinking environmentalists.  The trees are harvested, replanted and raised for harvest again.  These people wander out into the wonderful environment and decide they are in the middle of"old growth", throw a fit and quite often, the trees cannot be harvested, creating a fire hazard, etc.  (I could get radical here - not many things I do, but this is one).
