Myra Fermin's campaign manager suggests Myra make a deal with plastic weapons manufacturer, Alexander Polys. Vic tries to dissuade her. He shadows her political opponent in the hope of finding evidence that Dinsmore is a racist bigot with links to the clan. He fails to find concrete evidence. Next he looks for proof that Polys provided weapons to Robert Leroy Parker. The question locates a taxi driver who gave ride to Polys and Parker. Cobb sends a killer to murder the driver to preserve the potential deal with Myra. The candidate decides on her own to reject Polys' offer.
