The Question #24
January 1989
O'Neil/Cowan/Jones

The Question and Royal Dinsmore are saved from being burned alive by the fury of the tornado. The Huns panic as it first touches down. While Vic battles the storm Myra and her staff take refuge in the basement of City Hall. At KBEL the transmitter quits functioning. The weatherman foolishly steps out into the storm and is swept away. Vic survives the storm and awakens the next morning feeling refreshed. He learns that Myra lost the election by one vote. He curses himself because he forgot to vote. He goes out to get statements from the loser but Myra is unavailable. Next he seeks out Dinsmore. He finds the winner as they pull his dead body from the river. With Dinsmore dead Myra becomes the duly elected mayor of Hub City. Her husband, the former Mayor Wesley Fermin, shoots her as she gives her acceptance speech.
