"The End Is A Beginning"
Early evening, Police Lt. Fisher, a frequent visitor to Ted Kord's lab, puts in still another appearence to investigate what happened to Dan Garret on Pago Island. Kord, frustrated after the confrontation with the Lt. and a hard day at the lab, goes on Patrol as the Blue Beetle. Hovering past Pago Island, he discovers a light, and lands to investigate. He discovers his lad assistant, Tracey. Confronting her, she reveals thatshe was searching the island for evidence to prove Ted Kord innocent of Dan Garret's murder. Surprised by the depths of her feelings for him, Kord reveals his secret identity to her and also the secret of Pago Island: the revelation of Dan Garret's identity as the old Blue Beetle and his death battling the robots of Kord's evil Uncle Jarvis. Just as Kord finishes the story, he finds himself under attack by two still-activated robots, which he manages to defeat.
On the outskirts of Hub City, circus performer "Flying" Duedo develops a special cape which allows its wearer to fly, thus incurring the envy of his pupil, Max Bine, who murders Dundo and uses the cape to commit crimes as the Banshee. After weeks of near-misses while investigating the crimes, the Question confronts the Banshee as he attempts to steal a gem collection on the night of a big storm. As the two battle, the Banshee loses control of the cape, and due to his lack of expertise is blow out to sea.
