Inquisition (COL)- Anxious Death 12" MLP

(Fue Grabado En Paranova Estudios 1990)

Now, listen up you weary zombies, Inqusition's "Anxious Death" MLP from '90 does exist, and it is right here in front of me! AAargh, the curse is broken so let the truth be knownst! Equimanthorn! And brace well shaggy undeads, NECROMANSY shall talk about this Inquisition MLP on its perfidious pages! *the commotion stops* Let me start by saying that it is no wonder how this reputed "lost treasure" of the black metal underground, the ever elusive mystery from Columbia, the bloody damned first MLP from Inquisition, the curiosity on every collector's conversations had made many sceptics throughout the years of its rumoured existence, since it seems like NOBODY has it or ever saw it in their long span of miserable life. Some people told me that it didn't exist and it was meant to be a practical joke in the vein of a lost Bathory 7"! Even some "experts" told me that this Inquisition is the different one from the famous black metal Inquisition from the same country. I say screw them, since I've confirmed with Dagon from the said band and he personally told me that this is indeed the first from the band. Alright, here's another way to validate the claim. Hold up your favourite black metal Inquisition album and compare the logo with the one in the picture above. You'll find no mere coincidence. You see, this MLP is so rare that you will never find an original on those bigass collections list, and not a sentence of information regarding the MLP on the internet. But some of the collector's wantlists listed this one as the TOP TOP priority. Or should I say FUCKING FUCKING RARE (probably a 11/10 on Dan Edman's GODLY Corroseum website!)!!! I'm not going to be the faggot in togas but I'll still say that the world of black/death metal rarities collections shares a common philosophy in life, being that there are certain things that money just can't buy (and for most cases, the most important things). Well, you can buy a Vlad Tepes/Belketre CD if you have the money, but with a crown jewel like the Inquisition MLP, sometimes luck is even not enough. Thankfully, I was in league with Satan and that poor horned fucker had to get me a copy of this. But he kind of mishandled it to a shitty VG/EX which makes me want to burn up the mighty contract. Anyway, this treasure is indeed a sight to behold despite the conditions. The simple, red on black spells EVIL in my opinion and what have we got there, the pagan barbarian vs. the satanic priest? And the music, oh well it's GREAT! Before Inquisition haunted the black metal scene with their brand of Darkthrone/early Immortal-styled black metal with Typhon-influenced vocals, the evil mastermind Dagon was a strapping young lad in a trio made up of three Jim Morrison look-alikes thrashing out some "total brutal desangre cerebral death metal" (this was a print on the vinyl itself). That musical description does not even suffice for the GODLY materials on this vinyl!  Might I say that it's "total armageddon brutal desangre (whatever that means) hellish blackened antichristian speed death thrash raging metal"! Opening up with "Anxious Death" on Lado A, we get a nice brief introduction on acoustic guitars (nah it's not "El Condor Pasa") before jumping straight into the extremely hectic, technical death thrash which really shows us that the evil necromancer Dagon is somewhat different from the other black metal bunches! Yes, this obscure vinyl has some of the BEST death thrashing guitar riffs you're going to hear in your life and if it's not due to the geographical isolation of the band, Inquisition could really grow into something BIG and could have been touring with Slayer and receive a stadium-scale encore now instead of getting whimpers from a crowded pub full of sweaty corpsepainted kids. The wizard has put so many interesting variations in the song, which can alternate from a deeply heavy mosh material to fast, blazing speed grinding. On the other side, after a brief atmospheric "Intro" (don't ask me why it's on the B side),  "Low Superiority" screams hell without end! The guitars will so often do that "wail" to put its technical touch to good effects and the vocals reminds me of the Regurgitation that did the "Bathroom Rules" demo '87, being blackened and screechy. At its best, the songs can thrash like the hypercharged monster of Pestilence, Whiplash and there are parts that will induce Testament-like (!!!) headbangings (there's many indications that this band was heavily into techno-thrash). You see, with an obscure vinyl from South America, this is usually out of expectations since let's face it buddy, you know what "kind" of stuffs that usually come from the South American metaleros? But this Inquisition's MLP is really too good to be true and the sad thing is that the band will probably be remembered as that black metal band who moved from Columbia to the U.S.A., since few, if any people shall get the chance to hear this masterpiece.. Note: the webmaster of NECROMANSY can even remember the scent of the "Anxious Death" MLP by now.
