Hailing from my hometown of San Diego, Blink 182 has suddenly become huge. Is this the same band I saw 8 billion times at Soma -- the band every obnoxious soma slut worshipped -- yep! They sound the same, but fame has made their shows a bit more interesting. Here's a review of the December 18th, 1998 show at Irving Plaza.

Blink did, however, ham it up for the crowd. Tom became a spit target, Mark managed to get some little underage boys to strip. They played their songs, ending with a live encore on KROQ. As always they were fun, and DAMMIT made the crowd soar. If nothing else, they love the crowd and the crowd loves them.

Backstage -- little punk boys had their arms signed! My friend Charles interviewed them -- it will be on the page soon. Mark was embarrassed by my nipple rings, and the hooter girls made an appearance. I met tons of cool people that I'll never see again, talked about San Diego way too much, and actually had a half serious conversation with Mark. Having not seen them in two years, it was cool, I guess. (Scott hates Gatorade -- Odd drummer)
