Gene called me today, early morning in Japan as they were getting ready to fly to Australia. He was
checking on the progress of our next KISS special. He said the shows are going great, and told me about
a commercial they filmed there (Japan) for a magazine in which everything was miniaturized, making them
appear even bigger than they already are, like "the 3 Worlds of Gulliver," as he put it.
Now for bigger news: Greatest KISS is coming out here in April. Mercury Records wanted to have
something out while KISS toured America again this spring. It will have a different track listing than the
already released overseas versions (still being finalized). Gene said "KISS fans want a new record and we
do too," but that the label thinks enough people still want hits albums to warrant putting this out. Right now
the plan is "to take a breather and take a look at new material in the summer." So there you have it.
