Live Shows/Bootlegs
This is my small live shows/bootlegs page. Hopefully, I will slowly build my collection up, so please work with me on this. I will list most of the info that I have for each tape. I'll also put the songs next to the releases so you can see what you're getting. I may also put some of my comments next to it describing it. I have a few trade rules, which I think EVERYONE and their mother uses nowadays, so these aren't Earth shattering. First, please use Maxell Type II 90 minute cassettes. These are the standard for all tape traders. If you can't afford Maxells, I'll accept any of the other name brands, but I want them to be Type IIs. I'd prefer the Maxells though. Secondly, keep in contact if we trade. I'd like constant updates on when you get the tapes made and in the mailbox. I'm anal about that. If I can do it, so can you. We can negotiate sending cases or not. Also, please don't cut songs in half. These shows are exactly as I get them. I don't add or delete from them. Don't rip me off, because that's not a nice thing to do. On to the tapes...
The Cure
- Killer Cure(cd,A+)Mint Car, Inbetween Days, Want, Club America, This is a Lie, Mint Car, Jupiter Crash, Round 'n Round 'n Round, Return, Trap, Treasure, Bare, Primary, Killing an Arab, The Walk, Let's Go to Bed, Boys Dont Cry, Love Cats.(tracks 1 and 2:Saturday Night Live 5.11.96, tracks 3-12: London, England 5.96, tracks 13-17: Washington, DC 11.15.84, track 18: Tokyo, Japan 10.17.84)This is a great sounding bootleg. Sort of a hodge podge of eras, which is the only drawback. Lovecats is cool.
- Shellfish's Advice(cd,A)Three Imaginary Boys, Boys Don't Cry, Faith, A Forest, Let's Go to Bed, Inbetween Days, The Walk, Why Can't I Be You, Hot Hot Hot, Pictures of You, Lullaby, Friday I'm In Love.(this just says "Recorded live in the USA", so I don't have exact dates)This is also a pretty decent bootleg if you like having songs from all eras. Three Imaginary Boys is cool and menacing sounding.
- Fairfax, Va. USA 9.14.96(2 cassettes,A)Plainsong, Want, Club America, Fascination Street, Lullaby, High, Trust, Just Like Heaven, Jupiter Crash, Round and Round and Round, Lovesong, The Figurehead, Strange Attraction, Mint Car, Catch, Like Cockatoos, The Kiss, Return, Treasure, Trap, If Only Tonight We Could Sleep, Prayers For Rain, Inbetween Days, From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea, Bare, Gone!, Let's Go to Bed, Close to Me, Why Can't I Be You?(Witchcraft/Young At Heart/Lovecats medley), Boys Dont Cry, 10:15 Saturday Night, Killing an Arab.(2 Bonus songs:The Same Deep Water As You-Torino, Italy 6.9.89 and A Forest/Forever-Hartford, CT. USA, 9.15.96)A really good sounding show that has a few spots that are annoying like people chattering towards the end. That's the only drawback I can think of.
- Stokvishal, Arnheim, Netherlands 5.24.80(60 min cassette, B/B-)A Reflection, Play For Today, Three Imaginary Boys, In Your House, Fire In Cairo, 10:15 Saturday Night, M, At Night, Accuracy, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Another Journey By Train, Grinding Halt, A Forest, Seventeen Seconds, Plastic Passion, Boys Don't Cry, Subway Song, Killing An Arab. This show is a great show(the old ones are cool). This copy has Subway Song on it, whereas I've heard that most others don't. The instruments sound like they were mixed really high, because they pierce your ears sometimes. Vocals are excellent though.
- Reutelfest, France 6.14.81(around 25 min. cassette, C)Play For Today, Fire In Cairo, 10:15 Saturday Night, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Another Journey By Train, A Forest. I've looked on Cure bootleg disc. and haven't seen this show listed, even though Ten Imaginary Years(Cure book)mentions them playing it. It says that they played with UFO,The Clash, and Kevin Coyne. Apparently, there was a riot, the crowd was teargassed and Roxy Music refused to play. The set was short due to this I suppose. A decent show sound wise. Everything sounds a little muffled, and Matthieu's keyboards sound terrible.
Joy Division
- At the Paradiso, Amsterdam 1.11.80(around 60-65 min cassette,B+)Passover, Wilderness, Digital, Day of the Lords, Insight, New Dawn Fades, Disorder, Transmission, Love Will Tear Us Apart, These Days, A Means to an End, 24 Hours, Shadow Play, She's Lost Control, Atrocity Exhibition. This is the most heavily bootlegged concert by Joy Division that there is. A few boots have the entire show, but most don't. This copy is missing 2-3 songs, I believe. Very good sounding show. Their second to last show ever.
The Clash
- U.S. Festival II San Bernadino, CA. 5.29.83(around 65 min cassette,A-)London Calling, Radio Clash, Somebody Got Murdered, Rock the Casbah, Guns of Brixton, Know Your Rights, Koka Kola, Hate and War, Armagideon Time, The Sound of the Sinners, Safe European Home, Police On My Back, Brand New Cadillac, I Fought the Law, I'm So Bored With the USA, Train In Vain, Magnificent Seven, Straight to Hell, Should I Stay or Should I Go?, Clampdown. This is the last Clash show ever with them intact(minus Topper). It's a furious show with lots of energy. The only problem is at the beginning with London Calling. It gets cut off after a couple of verses. That's the way all bootlegs of this show are. It cuts and Radio Clash is already in play. Good bootleg with great sound.
