Rev. Hatch sends two corrupt cops to snatch Myra Fermin's daughter, Jackie, from the "special residence" where she lives. Vic tried to stop them but the cops use a nun as a hostage. Vic gives chase but his bug seizes up from damage done when he crashed into the terrorists' van. Hatch prepares to sacrifice the girl in order to appease his dark master. Vic sneaks into the Mayor's mansion as The Question. He fights his way through Hatch's hired thugs accidentally setting the house on fire. He stops Hatch from sacrificing Jackie. He refuses to sink to Hatch's level by killing the demented man of the cloth. Myra holds no such scruples. She runs the man through with his own sacrificial knife.
