These issues of the Blue Beetle marked The Question's first appearances in DC Comics outside of the Crisis mini-series that first introduced him to the DC Universe. These stories center on Vic visiting Chicago (where Blue Beetle has apparently taken residence), to help Blue Beetle fight a union of the Chicago youth gangs. The gangs are being organized by a villain (?) called the Muse, but, of course, BB and Vic triumph in the end, but at the cost of a person's life. The Muse was, in actuality, the son of Chicago's lead mobster. All he wanted to do was be an actor, but his father was intent on giving him the "family business." As the Muse, he conspired to have the gangs overthrow his father's regime so that he could fulfill his own career, but his plans tragically backfired and he was killed in a skirmish with his own father.
