Wow Pat, I have no idea. I think it's perfect on Free Hand - a great contrast to the rest of the songs on that record.

>n.p. Bronco pre-game

Who could have foreseen that Denver would give up 48 points in one game? Even two games would have been hard to believe.

Bleah (sorry my Texan friends). I hate 'em ever since someone decided they were America's Team. Mostly they pissed me off because they always won. But even when they were having bad seasons I hated 'em.

I can confirm - a friend owned a woody D6. - S.

I must say, I have enjoyed the few posts that have come in on the subject
of what people are reading. The disagreements and agreements over such
folks as Ayn Rand and Tolkien are amusing, but I hope nobody takes them
very seriously here. I've seen bloody fights over such topics elsewhere
on the Internet.

Hello again.

I am back reading the o-r-digest after some years off.

Will even be meeting some of you maddest ones in NY in October.

Of course it is possible to know which keyboards Kerry used, it is only necessary to pick up Proclamation #3 in which I included the Contemporary Keyboard interview from 1975.

Other sad stories include when he had to sell his Hammond to be able to buy food for the family. But that was considerably later. Did you know that he didn't even own most of his own records when I visited them the first time in 1988?

The white cello is alive still, although with a crack in the body.

Kerry actually dreams (or dreamt about it last year, at least) to build a studio in the attic and include a Hammond and a grand piano and a proper drum kit and so on there.

I have now put all my articles and other photocopies concerning GG up to 1980 in a big box to mail to Chris in France to have it scanned and where necessary o-r'ed (not on-reflectioned, you numbskull). Look forward to it.

If you wonder about Proclamation #6, give me a call.

Yes just to flesh that out a bit, ergot is a fungus which grew on wheat
before fungicide sprays. If ingested it causes nausea, hallucinations,
gangrene and death. However some alkaloids contained in ergot have good
uses, such as dilation of the cervix for ease of birth, (Babadec could have
done with some) dilation of blood vessels for relief of migraine and
providing the base substrate for LSD.

Point taken.

I beg your pardon. I've recently been part of two forums where Objectivists
have basically monopolised bandwidth and berated everyone. As long as the
discussion stays civilised and flame-free, I'm all for it. I guess my
problems with the Objectivists have more been with individual acolytes of Ms
Rand than with her philosophy. I don't like Nietzche for exactly the same
reasons, again, more based on his followers than with him at a philosophical
level.

I was at Bournemouth, first or second row and so impressed how Van der Graaf
used organ bass pedals,
I said I wasn't a musician when I introduced myself.
I also remember Genesis being treated badly during the poetry readings (I
was just perplexed) and Phil Collins leering over his drumkit and saying
something like "Why don't you lot clear off to a Johnny Winter concert -
he's in Bristol". This confused me even more 'cos I liked Johnny Winter so
couldn't grasp the insult.

Speaking of which anyone here at the Bath Jazz & Blues festival 1970 when
FZ/Santana/Jefferson/Johnny Winter etc etc played?

Several folks besides me have noted that GG was played often on
WNEW-FM in New York.

While WNEW went downhill, along with all other commercial FM
stations, once the market researchers got hold of it, it still played
music -- until yesterday when it went to an all-talk (if you can call
what they're doing "talk") format.

Though the station had been musically dead for years, it's still an
event to be marked.

Wow. WNEW is one of only a handful of US FM radio stations that represent
the best days of FM radio from a couple of decades ago (like WMMR-Philly,
WSAN-San Francisco, I'm sure others will fill in the blanks for other
cities). Any fan of the old free-form ("progressive") radio format and the
abundance of great music it brought us should bow his or her head. These
guys are where it all began.
