Masters Of Rock, Pop & Beyond Top 15 Countdown

Week Ending March 18 2005

Well Top O' The Morning to ya music fans!! Are you hungover from too much
St Paddiy's celebrating ???
After a night of too much Guinness, Corned Beef and Shamrock Butter Cookies
(Honestly stingy Kathy you couldn't share even one? :D )
why not ease into your day by relaxing and taking a look at this week's chart!
Once again we have a bounty of debuts including one by Antony & The Johnsons
that actually replaces his song that debuted last week. "I Fell In Love With A Dead Boy" is well, dead.
While "Hope There's Someone" springs to life and replaces it.
An interesting thing happened with Tegan & Sara also
where they had two different songs that appeared on people's lists
that apparently cancelled each other out because neither song earned enough
points to make the chart. No such trouble for our band of the hour Garbage as Shirley and friends easily attack the top spot of the
chart managing to appear on three people's lists! At the bottom you'll notice
a slight change in the bubbling under section's format.
It now has a new name Weekly Heatseekers and there will be 4 or 5
songs listed representing different categories. These are the songs in that
particular genre of music that came closest to making the chart but
just missed the cut. Songs are always new songs that never made the chart
by artists who don't have a current song on the chart.
The categories are ROCK, ALTERNATIVE, FOLK/COUNTRY/SINGER-SONGWRITER, JAZZ and R&B/HIP-HOP
there is no pick in the R&B/Hip-Hop category this week
because no R&B or Hip-Hop songs made anybody's list.
Anyway before getting to the chart let's say a fare-thee-well
to songs that leave us including last week's number 1 !
