My Hero

My hero,
Isn't somebody you read about in a comic book,
Or a famous sports player.
He doesn't wear a cape,
Or have metal bones.
He doesn't carry a big gun,
Or make shoe commercials.
He doesn't fly,
Or get paid millions of dollars.
He was just a quiet man,
Born in a stable in Bethlehem.
He wasn't immortal,
After thirty-three years, he died on a cross.
He didn't have mutant powers,
He was just a normal man.
There was only one difference,
Between him and everybody else's hero.
He trusted in His heavenly father,
And relied on him to get through the tough places.
This is why he's different,
And this is why he's my hero.
