Shining Through
I was all alone in a world of darkness.
I didn't where I was going,
Or where I had been.
Then, off in the distance,
I saw a glimmer of hope,
A glimmer of light.
As soon as I saw the light,
I started running towards it.
Demons and dark things tried to trip me up,
And hold me back.
But I kept going because I was guided,
I was drawn.
As I got closer,
I saw what the light was,
Who the light was.
It was Jesus,
My loving Savior.
He was holding out his arms for me.
And he was smiling at me.
At first I walked away,
Ashamed of my life,
And what I had done.
But as I looked back at his shining face,
I saw that he was beckoning to me.
I started back towards him,
At first very slowly,
Then, finally I was running so fast,
That I felt,
If only I had put out my arms,
I could have flown.
When I finally embraced him,
I was filled with a peace and joy,
That passes description.
I knew that I would never have to worry again,
Because God would always be with me.
He'll do the same thing in your life,
All you have to do is ask him.
And he'll do it all,
For the love of you and me.
