Outtakes and demos from Jimi's first 2 albums make up this CD. A few tracks from this sound, to me, suspiciously like they were taken from the original albums. For example, the Are You Experienced track.
On the liner notes says it's the original take played backwards, with Jimi overdubbing a 2nd lead guitar. To me it just sounds like an AYE LP played backwards and taped. But who knows...
A few good tracks scattered in here, including some Red House takes, but personal fav is The Wind Cries Mary track, which is the released version minus Jimi's vocals. Not that I don't like Jimi's vocals on TWCM, far from it.
But here, you just hear so much more musically, and you really appreciate the track even more.
Quality is varied, from rough to pretty good. If you like outtakes, you'll probably enjoy this CD. Myself, I just wish the quality was a little better is all.
