The Kings' Jam

B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix. Can you imagine two greater guitarists playing together? I know I sure can't. Unfortunately they do not play together for this entire CD, just the last 3 tracks. And Jimi only appears on 4 in total. A very bluesy CD, as if it would be anything else considering who plays on it, and they are backed up by the Paul Butterfield Blues band. Apparently the entire jam session is not presented here on this single CD, as it was over 90 minutes in length. But what is here is pretty good stuff. An okay Like A Rolling Stone (I personally haven't heard a better version than the Monterey one). Then what follows is some blues jamming, which does not include participation by Jimi. But it's good music none the less. Jimi comes back in on track 6 until the end. If you are a fan of the blues(and if you like Jimi you must be!), you'll like this CD.

Quality is quite good considering it was recorded in a club without the proper equipment. A decent CD, my only problem with it is there's not enough B.B. & Jimi playing together. But defintely worth picking up and adding to your collection.
Note : Jimi only appears on tracks 1, 6, 7, & 8
