A mixed CD here, Boston Gardens features a track from Jimi's April 25th/70 L.A. Forum concert, and the remainder from his Boston Garden concert of June 27th/70.
When I first put this one in the player, I was pleasantly surprised. The first track, from the L.A. Forum gig, Voodoo Child, kicks some serious butt. Shorter than some of his other versions, it is no less fiery.
I will have to add this concert on my list of get's. The remainder of the CD was a disappointment however. Quality of the Boston tracks is poor.
An audience recording, and from the sounds of it, recorded by someone not actually *in* the Gardens, but standing outside the building with a bunch of friends. Just kidding, but the sound is that rough.
Crowd noises of people talking easily drown out the music, and there's a lot of talking going on. What you can hear of the concert sounds like it was a pretty good one, but it's just such a poor recording, you give up trying.
As mentioned, quality of the first track is very good, the remaining 10 are poor. One for the archives, until a better one shows up.
