Another mixed CD, only the first 6 tracks are from the Davenport concert. The Stars That Play With Laughing Sam's Dice is a studio outtake, and the remaining tracks come from the Royal Albert Hall rehearsals of February 24th/69.
I'm pretty sure the Davenport material isn't a whole concert, but it's a nice selection. Plus how can you go wrong with a rare Are You Experienced? (and a 11 minute version at that!) and a 13 minute version of Red House? Ya can't! :)
My only complaint is after Lover Man, you can hear Jimi introducing the next song to be Tax Free, but there seems to be an edit, and then you hear him introducing Foxy Lady. To me this shows that there is more from this concert that isn't being let out.
The material from the Royal Albert Hall is mostly incomplete run-throughs, but there are some nice moments. The Royal albert Hall concert is also on my to-get list. Apparently a new remastered version has been released, not by Experience Hendrix, but by a company called Rising Sun.
Reviews I have read about it sound pretty good, I'll have to be sure to pick it up and add it to my collection.
Quality of the tracks is for the most part good, I beleive the Davenport tracks have had a bit of reverb added to them to give them some depth. Not too much, just a bit. The RAH material is only rehearsal takes, but still sound quite clear. A good CD overall.
