Spicy Essence


More apartment jams make up Spicy Essence, though they are different compared to the ones previously released on a number of CDs. Just Jimi with his guitar, sketching out songs roughly. Like with other material such as this, it's interesting to see how a song develops, from an initial idea or riff, into a final finished song. Seeing Jimi in the creative process is very cool :)

Quality of this CD is so-so, very tinny, but apparently better than the trader's tape. These weren't meant to be used in the studio. They were just Jimi putting down his ideas, working out the song, so when he did go into the studio, he would be able to show the band how he wanted the song to go. If you're a fan of this type of stuff, you'll like this CD. If you only like studio quality tracks or professionally recorded live songs, then you'll be disappointed with this one.
