Subtitled `The Unforgettable Show!', GSM&R is taken from Jimi's Woodstock performance. Unlike the Alan Douglas released CD, this contains the (not entire) Woodstock performance in the proper order.
See Alan, Hendrix fans *do* notice...we may be fanatics sometimes, but we aren't stupid. If Jimi wanted the songs in the order you presented them, don't you think he would have played them in that order? Do ya think at all?
And another minor point, before I stop ranting, what's with all the fake noise you added Alan? If I wanted to buy a CD with crowd noise, I'd buy one. I wanted Hendrix. And I wanted *all* of the concert.
Hendrix fans *would* have paid for a double CD, watch what happens when Experience Hendrix puts it out, and from the chat with Janie Hendrix on the official Hendrix page, there are plans for the complete Woodstock performance to be released.
But until that time, we have to live with the ROIO's. And this one is a pretty decent release. Nice clear sound, if a little bit hissy. And it's a small point, but this CD ends with Hey Joe, as did the original concert. A nice touch (are you listening Alan????)
All in all, a good CD for a collection. And one I'd buy before the previous AD release. C'mon Janie and Eddie, we're waiting anxiously for this one :)
