Woodstock Rehearsals was recorded at Jimi's rented house in Shokan, New York, less than a week before his Woodstock performance. They show a band working out the kinks in the more established songs, and jamming a few newer ones.
No real standout tracks, this is a band that was rusty, and working hard on polishing themselves up for the upcoming show. And they did pull it together for Woodstock, just 4 days later.
The last 2 tracks come from the Tinker Street Cinema, in the town of Woodstock, about a week before the concert. A little warm up with a audience, to get ready for the much larger crowds who were beginning to gather at Max Yasgur's farm.
The tracks here aren't too bad and sound quality for the most part is good, a little hissy, but most tapes from this time seem to be that. If you are a fan of Woodstock, these are a nice background preview to Jimi's most well known concert.
