Grazia Violanti was born to Sicilian nobility in the 12th century. In 1194, when she was only 11, the Violanti dynasty was replaced quietly by the Swabians. Her father, Giordano, was infuriated and tried to protest, but he was quickly and brutally murdered. Grazia's mother was murdered also as she tried to escape. The Swabian thugs stopped short of killing Grazia, some having children of their own, and allowed her to leave with only a warning: "if you ever return, you will die."
Grazia headed to Northern Italy where she believed she might have relatives. She was taken in by a distant cousin, Galeazzo, who was also an Austrian Duke. She lived with him for several years, enjoying all of the attention and riches Galeazzo had to offer. Her cousin, although he was distant in the blood line, was her only family left. The two became very close, and as Grazia grew older, they spent many nights talking about the past and present. One night, Galeazzo brought up the future...he revealed to Grazia his darkest secret-that he was a vampire. And he also asked Grazia to join him, to share the same blood and be a closer family than ever...Grazia agreed.
The next night an armed group of Galeazzo's rivals stormed the castle, slaughtering the servants and caught Galeazzo in the middle of draining Grazia's blood. They tore him away from her and cut off his head. A spray of blood hit Grazia's mouth as she screamed. One of the men cut his own wrist and forced his blood into her throat. She later escaped her captors, but she can never escape the unwanted malkavian blood in her Sicilian veins.
Update: Grazia was murdered by a gargoyle Friday night, only a short time after entering Solace. She somehow angered the anal-retentive fellow and he commenced to ripping her heart out. Since she was the last of her line, the death will unfortunately go unavenged. (the real crime is the uncreativeness of the murder. ripping a heart out? *yawn* )
