The original Beastie boys consisted of:
Kate Schellenbach (drummer)
Mike Diamond (vocalist)
Adam Yauch (bass)
John Berry (guitar)
First ever gig was at John’s loft, at Yauch’s 17th birthday party. In
John’s loft they also recorded the 4 track cassette versions of "Egg raid
on Mojo" and Transit Cop".
First club gig at A7.
Polly Wog stew EP was recorded at Scott Jarvis’ place, 171-A
studios, in two days. Jarvis later became tour manager and D.J for the
boys on the Madonna "Virgin" tour.
After the second break-up, John got tired of the same old shit and left
the band, which resulted in the third breakup.
Adam Horovitz, whose band was the "Young and the Useless", had opened up
for the Beastie Boys on numerous occasions, and so when John left, Adam
became John’s successor on the guitar.
Dug Pomeroy hooked them up in a studio which basically only did jingles,
so the only thing to result from that was songs like "Cookie Puss" and
"Beastie Revolution"…. ETC ETC ETC...over the years, the style changed, they grew more smarter in both the lyrics and music, the public image changed, their credibility solidified, and they are the Beastie Boys you know now...

IT'S BEEN UPDATED!!!WHOO HOO!!!! Finally i got of my lazy arse and worked on this page! Well i only added some new info, like how Yaucher's a daddy [been one for a few months :)] and how the b-boys are on the Rollingstone again, yaddad yadda!!! Oh! Rancid made a very nice comment about the beasties, saying how their [b-boys] punk rock stuff that comes out is pure 80's american punk...i'll be posting the actual quote in a little while...
