Back To Nowhere
COLUMNS
Chris - Tuesday 4th July - 5:00pm
It seems ages since I've put anything here - and it is, over a month actually. I wrote something last night for this page but typically, I saved it to a floppy disk and then forgot to bring it with me this morning. So you'll have to wait a couple more days before that gets uploaded. In the meantime, what's going on? A full Less Than Jake UK tour has been announced (dates are in the gig guide which I've just updated). I've heard a rumour that Hot Water Music might be supporting but, to be honest, I don't find this very likely. Once they've done Warped they're supposed to be doing an East Coast US tour followed by a few months off to write and record the next album… And they deserve it too - I can scarcely think of a band that tours harder and longer (fnarr) than Hot Water Music.
The Leatherface tour is now in full swing - I've been to the Harlow show so far (more on that in the next column) and it's Tunbridge Wells tonight. Then on Friday it's the Garage show with Midway Still and Pylon supporting. Should be a fun show. The gigs I'm looking forward to most of all though, obviously, are the Discount shows in August. The friend I'm staying with tells me that she's going to get tickets for the Gainesville show for us so there'll be no worries on getting in the venue. All that's left to wait for now is my plane tickets to arrive!
I've moved house! I'm now living in Gipsy Hill, SE27, just three minutes from the Paxton - site of the infamous Paxton Brawls. Unfortunately, I'm told that one isn't being held this year which is bloody typical really seeing as I've just moved there. The neighbours seem ok except one of them stomped on the floor in the room above mine last night at 1am because I had the TV slightly too loud - whoops! I suppose he did have a point though - he put a note through the door this morning actually apologising!!!! Maybe he should have just come downstairs last night and asked me to turn the thing down instead of doing it the rude way????
Anyway, that's it for now - off for the train to Tunbridge Wells!
