The one thing that you expect from people you are acquainted with in some way is some basic consideration. Well, consider this. I walked into my house last night sometime after midnight to be greeted with

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

and some random person coming up to me, shaking my hand and saying "hey! I haven't seen you in a while!", friendly as hell I know but hey, there's a full-scale fucking party going on in the front room! This is, of course, after my housemate said "oh yeah, I'll let you know next time I'm planning to have people over". One of the conditions when I moved in, for god's sake, was "you can have people over, just let me know in advance". Well I guess that rule just went out the fucking window eh?

Ended up going to a gig last night which was unexpected. Nick and I were in Bromley and were flicking through an NME when we came across a gig with The Duvals and Fatty Jones at the Bull and Gate! Excellent stuff. We went up there anyway and I got far too trolleyed as usual. Motel 6 (first band on) were a bit shite I'm afraid, Fatty Jones were excellent (although I'm not a huge fan of Golly's vocals) and The Duvals were very good as well. Still too much cock-rock posturing though! Full review to follow.

There's some weird fucking records out there. Picked up a copy of "Like The Idea" by Boston's Think Tree while we were in Vegas. I was introduced to this band a few year's ago by my Boston friend Bridget and I have to say they are truly bizarre. They're like a mixture of weird and wonderful lyrics, 80's american pop, funk, bhangra, weird punk / ska, Barenaked Ladies and Kraftwerk samples. That makes them sound terrible I know but they are strangely compelling for some reason.

Over on the Snuff mailing list Luke is still claiming that the Descendents are the special guests at Deconstruction. Of course, he STILL refuses to say where he's getting this information from, just that we should "trust him". I guess we'll just have a bit longer to see if he's right. I hope he is because it'd be bloody good if it was them but if it's not.. wow, he's going to look fucking stupid!
