Here's a Fracture post from Chris Cut deriding the morons from The ID...
Having looked at your site, and worse, listened to your truly abysmal MP3's which remind me of the first band I was in when I was about 17 -we used think sounding like Nirvana was cool too but we never tried to make out to be something else -
"The Id conform to no labels.
For instance, it would not be possible to categorise them as a mere Metal, Grunge, or Indie band, having compared songs such as the furious Discount Directory to the visionary Freezing. The Id’s music is diverse in their rhythm, tones and utilitarian lyrics from the political to the surreal."
Anyway, after also looking at your 'classy' photoshoots - which look like they were taken on a disposable camera. And your frankly baffling conduct on this website, I have come to the conclusion that you need psychriatric help! You obviously live in a self deluded fantasy that
1. You are a talented 'Rock' act with a glittering future - look at the facts Mate, you've self-released one EP (mere demo quality if those MP3's are anything to go on). You're constant talk of contacts and your grand future plans make you sound like all those bands that advertise in the back on the NME who always put 'record label interest' because someone once asked for a demo! You've been around a while haven't you, not exactly a new act...I'm sure being the biggest band in Didsbury will be of some comfort
2. Anyone on here gives a flying fuck about you. If you didn't reply to EVERY single post with your utter nonsense you'd soon be forgotten and we'd go back to talking about what's the best flavour crisps or whether drinking water from the tap is ethical! This all started when people on here wouldn't help your shit band get gigs. You seem to miss the point of this Forum. Most people on here are involved in the DIY punk and hardcore scene doing bands, labels, zines, putting on shows etc. It's not the place for second rate grunge bands who are desperately trying to whore themselves to uninterested major labels at 'conventions' and keep harping on about 'contacts'...man!
3. Your obsession with people's identity is bordering on the paranoid...especially when most people include their name and email address, many of them with reference to the band or label that they are with - the fact that you don't recognise any of them is another example of your complete ignorance of our scene.
4. Your arrogance is oustanding - you seem to think that everyone on here is some punky thicko geek who all play in two bit bands and are going nowhere when the truth is most are involved in a incredibly vibrant scene, there are people on here, myself included, that are in bands that travel all over the Europe, put records out all over the world, do zines, like Fracture that is massively respected as one of the finest fanzines EVER! and most importantly are part of a scene that builds bridges and 'contacts' (your favourite word) amongst like minded people. The thing is, we don't feel the need to bang on about our achievements to make ourselves seem more important than we actually are, we don't measure things on here in terms of record company interest
BUT - FYI - my name's Chris, I play in the band Travis Cut, we've put out records in the UK, Japan, US and Australia. we've been to Europe three times and Japan once. We've recorded an LP in the States, we've recorded three John Peel sessions, been on channel 4 blah blah blah - the point is, I don't think you're in any position to lecture me, or anyone else on the Forum about the 'Music Industry' so please just give it a rest
