CHATHAM TOWN 3 BROMLEY 4 - KENT SNR CUP QUARTER FINAL 14/01/03

For an hour Bromley dominated this game and looked really good value for their 4-1 lead at that stage, but then a combination of poor defending and a crisis of confidence for Danny Harwood let Chatham back into the game.

Bromley had all the opening play and the combination of Falana, Amoako and Watts constantly troubled the home side's defence. On 30 mins The Ravens took the lead when Amoako twisted and turned his way round their defence before leaving the keeper flat footed and rolling the ball into an empty net. Six minutes later he grabbed his second when, after good work from Falana, Adolph's shot flew in off a defender. The third was not far behind on 44 mins when, after good work by Myatt, Harney's cross found Falana who powered his header in just under the bar. Almost dead on half time Harwood lost a long ball and spilled it to Lombardo who beat Manuel on the line.

Bromley came out brightly in the second half and grabbed the fourth goal on 53 mins when Watts went on a great run before having his shot parried by Fewell. Kirk responded first to the looping ball and headed it across goal to Falana who tapped in from close range. This should have been game over, but Harwood totally scuffed a clearance a minute later and Lombardo was on hand to walk the ball in for 2-4. The Ravens still looked the better side, but took the foot off the pedal a little too much. On 89 mins Harwood was left stranded by a poor Harris back header and was beaten to the ball by a quick witted Lombardo again for 3-4!

In injury time Khalouq was pulled back on the half way line and that man Lombardo was harshly sent off for it to complete an eventful night for him! Chatham had a penalty turned down for what looked a blatant dive and from the corner that followed a brawl broke out that saw Ref Bishop send off two more of the home sides players to every ones disbelief! The lights were so bad I couldn't see who or why!
