The players as well as the supporters seemed to have bigger things on their minds than this game, with the future if the club once again thrown into doubt.
Bromley did play some good football, but there was no final ball to the strikers and far too many misplaced passes. Staines scored their winner on 73 mins when Johnson converted after Bromley’s defence failed to deal with a low cross. Ngyuen only lasted 50 mins and looked well off the pace and with Drewett playing more of a central role there was none of the exciting wing play of Tuesday night. The whole shape of the team looked awkward, Staines played ok, we played poorly and they just about deserved the points.
Optimism has once again left The Nest.
