A late rally by The Ravens could not hide the fact that we were outclassed by our local rivals. Charly Side, who had left Bromley in September following a wage cut, scored a hat-trick, as in a half hour spell either side of half time Dulwich ran riot through the weak and demoralised Bromley ranks who obviously failed to grasp whatever tactics they were meant to employ.
McIntyre started with 5 recognised defenders in the line up and only 1 striker in Bartley who was for too long an isolated figure. Watts ran his heart out and looked great, but was doubled teamed a lot of the time and was subbed in the second half. There was no cohesive play in midfield and the defence looked like rabbits startled in a car's headlights.
Allen scored Dulwich’s first on 29 mins and Side made it two on 38 when he latched on to an awful header back to Harwood who slipped twice and fell as the ball was taken round him. After the break Allen chipped in again on 51mins and Side hammered in two more on 55 & 83 mins.
On 72 mins Wilfort hit a great goal from long range, followed in injury time by a cool free kick from Tivey and a Harris tap-in. We should also have had a penalty for handball, but remarkably the very poor Ref gave a free kick outside the box although the offence took place on the penalty spot! We could have had 5 they should have scored 10!
Quote for the game, ‘In 60 mins I’ve gone from having faith in McIntyre to thinking he’s just another fool’
