Four new songs from the Teeside foursome with the ever changing line-up. Carolyn’s vocals are to the forefront as ever on this release. I can see that they would take a hell of a lot of getting used to for some people as they are very childlike at times. I think they’re great though and make a nice contrast to the Leatherface / Broccoli style full throttle guitar attack. “Sounds Like Summer” describes itself perfectly with its title whilst “Copybook” is possibly the highlight of the 7”. Complex and considered with some great back-up vocals in the chorus. Side B contains more of the same – not as good as the “Everything’s Difficult” 7” which is truly awesome. Worth picking up all the same though. By the way, according to Jamie (drummer), the band now features the two brothers from China Drum so make sure you go check em out live when they tour with Serpico (the UK one!) in August 2001 (see the gig guide for dates!).
