The band has recently recorded four songs for their second CD titled "2", which they plan to put on their upcoming 1999 release, "Sleeve", on Diesel Boy Records. Recorded at Inner Ear Studios (Arlington, VA) with Don Zientara (Fugazi, Jawbox, Smart Went Crazy), their music blends alternative with some bitter soul. Glenn has shared the stage with dozens of well-known musicians, including 311, Alanis Morrisette, Body Count, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Lenny Kravitz, The Misfits, The Scorpions, Karma to Burn, House of Pain, Goldfinger, Terrence Trent D'Arby, Counting Crows, Boingo, Jewel, Right Said Fred, Spider Monkey, Black Uhuru, Khami Marley, and many, many more.The band continues to perform in the D.C. metro area playing venues such as the Rhodeside Grill, the Clarendon Grill, Galaxy Hut, T.T. Reynolds, Crossroads, Uncle Jed's Roadhouse, the Bayou, etc. Glenn is no stranger to the local music scene, for he has played every major venue in and around the Beltway, including the Bayou, Capitol Ballroom, the Black Cat, Phantasmagoria, 15 Minute Club, 9:30 Club 8x10, and Nissan Pavilion. The band also makes occasional trips outside of the area as well. This past April, they played down in Durham, North Carolina at Duke University's 1998 Spring Fling and just this past July shared a show with the Michael Sheppard Group at the Deer Park Tavern in Newark, Delaware.
In February the band made a road tip to Nashville, TN to attend Extravaganza '99. This event is sponsored by the Nashville Entertainment Association and showcases some of the most promising acts in the nation. This gives the record companies the opportunity to check out the bands and gives the bands an opportunity to perform live in front of the record companies and fans. The conference is held at numerous clubs in the Nashville and feature many of the top live venues in the music world. No.2 Pencil had the pleasure to play with some really great acts including Von-Ra and Choke.
