Again
By Mark Sherrick

sitting alone wondering
thinking chewing my nails
leaning back in my chair
in the library thinking and writing
watching what’s going on
listening to everyone else
talk amongst themselves
wondering if someone will turn around
and see me and wonder
why I’m sitting in the middle of the library
at an empty table with no books
or notebooks or notepads in front of me
and receive the simplest of answers:
Because.
