HORSE NATION: A Tribute to the Life, Music and Spirit of The Cult (1997)
OK here's the first Cult Tribute Album. It's from Mud Wax Records (out of New Jersey). It's all un-signed, Cult-fans indie bands out for recognition. Some versions make me change my pants 3 or 4 times, while other songs give me the urge to clean my room. That's not too good. Anyhoo, here's the song list:
- Peace Dog - The Swamp Candles with Joe Lam
- She Sells Sanctuary - Oh Mr.Grant!
- New York City - Narcosis
- Revolution - Jades Parlor
- Earth Mofo - Michel Van Zeeland
- Resurrection Joe - Gravedance
- Rain - Empty Stares
- Sweet Salvation - Tom Maris
- The Phoenix - Skunkweed
- Wake Up Time for Freedom - Six to the Universe
- Saints are Down - Jen Hess
Produced by Joe Campbell
Originally there was going to be a Edie (Ciao baby) cover, done by Cathy Cane, but they got Earth Mofo instead. Some songs, like I keep saying, are a little too different, but overall it's allright. If you want to get a copy, contact Mud Wax at mudwax@aol.com .Good Luck, 'cause it might be purdy hard to contact them. HA!
Fire Woman: A Tribute to The Cult (2003)
There's a new tribute album and, unlike the first, it's a whole damn lot easier to find. Basically, what the album sounds like is the original with a heavier guitar distortion and a different singer. Other than that, it is exactly The Cult. Well there's a couple of bands that make an effort to sound different, but other than that.....wwwhhhhoooooeeeeeee
Das songs are:
- Fire Woman - Jizzy Pearl
- She Sells Sanctuary - Enuff Znuff
- Sweet Soul Sister - Paul Shortino & Jimmy Crespo
- American Horse - Jake E. Lee & Tattoo Frank

- Peace Dog - American Dof feat. Jason McMaster
