Like most Cure songs, Jupiter Crash is pretty easy to play. But it is fairly
unusual; the trickiest part was working out the first two chords of the
verse. Thanks go to Erik Pischel (pischel@informatik.hu-berlin.de) for being
the first person to actually get them right, sending me in the right
direction and saving me a lot of effort.
One thing to watch out for: this song is a little weird rhythmically. It's
in 6/8 time, but it's syncopated as if it were in 4/4 time. I suppose one
could argue that it's in 4/4 time with everything in triplets (and I'm
willing to listen to anybody who can argue so or that thinks it's 12/8 or
3/4 or something), but I've tabbed it in 6/8. To illustrate, the diagram
below shows where the accents lie (marked with x) in both times:
6/8 (syncopated): 1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5 . 6 .
4/4 (in triplets): 1 . . 2 . . 3 . . 4 . .

and zee lyrics:
she follows me down to the sound of the sea
slips to the sand and stares up at me
is this how it happens is this how it feels
is this how a star falls
is this how a star falls
the night turns as i try to explain
irresistable attraction and orbital plane
or maybe it's more like a moth to a flame
she brushes my face with her smile
forget about stars for awhile
as she melts
meanwhile millions of miles away in space
the incoming comet brushes jupiter's face
and disappears away with barely a trace
was that it was that the jupiter show
it kinda wasn't quite what i hoped for you know
and pulling away she stands up slow
and round her the night turns
round her the night turns
yeah that was it that was the jupiter crash
drawn too close and gone in a flash
just a few bruises in the region of the splash
she left too the sound of the sea
she just drifted away from me
yeah so much for gravity...
