This is easily the simplest song on Wild Mood Swings, but there's a bit more
to it than some people think. Specifically, I'm refering to the people on
Babble who said that you just repeat one chord progression (Em G C Em Am G B)
over and over--there are actually three different sequences, which I've
lettered (a), (b), and (c) below. Each chord is held for one measure except
the B and B7, which are held for two as indicated. The outlay of the song is
on the right:

BASIC CHORD PROGRESSIONS | INTRO:
(a) Em | G | C | Em | Am | G | B | B | (a) x2
(b) C | G | C | Em | Am | G | B | B | (b) x2
(c) C | Em | G | Em | Am | Em | B7 | B7 |
			                     | VERSES 1 and 2:
RHYTHM | (a) x2
X Y | (b) x1
/ / / / / / / / / / |
1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5 . 6 . | CHORUS:
			                     | (c) x2

So that's basically it. In the live shows, Robert plays it on a 6-string
acoustic, while Simon uses a 12-string (there isn't any bass, as you probably
noticed). The only other thing to worry about is the variations. For some
chords, they split the measure by playing the basic chord for the first 3
beats (where it's marked "X" on the rhythm chart) and switching to an altered
chord on the last three (marked "Y"). Hope that makes some sense!

Notes
- the GM7 chord can be played with an openn E bass, like: 020032

	 ----------=================================----------

...and the lyrics:

how each of us decides how each of us believes
i've never been sure i've never really known
the part we play in heaven unseen
the way we are and hell unkown
how each of us denies how each of us dreams
any other way in the world to understand anything at all

how each of us must choose why each of us decides
i've never understood i've never been sure
one special friend the part we take
one true love the way we are
why each of us must lose why each of us denies
everyone else in the world any other way in the world

	          however unsure however unsure
	          however unwise however unwise
day after day day after day
play out our lives play out our lives
	        however confused however confused
pretending to know to the end pretending to know to the end

  		        but this isn't truth
		          this isn't right
		          this isn't love
		          this isn't life
		          this isn't real
		           this is a lie
