STREETWISE, OUTGOING, AMBITIOUS, & DEDICATED" they auditioned and were chosen to form the group "Touch". The father and son management team that brought them togther put them up in a house and gave them dancing and singing lessons. Then Emma Bunton came and they worked on their voices in hopes of a record deal. They left their managers because they wanted to input their own ideas and they got with Simon Fuller. In July of `95 they signed with Virgin Records and came out with Spice their debut album which sold 18 million copies and is still selling. Their first single "Wannabe" went to #1 in 32 countries. Their unique spicey nick-names "Scary","Baby","Posh","Ginger", and "Sporty". were originally meant to make fun of them by the british music magazine Top of the Pops but The Spice Girls liked their names and adopted them as their own. The Spice Girls have many endorsements one of them being with Pepsi and with that endorsement they had their first live performance in Istanbul. In Granada,Spain on November 6th 1997 they held a press conference to annouce the release of their sophomore album "SpiceWorld", the upcoming release of their movie "SpiceWorld", and their world tour. In June of 1997 they were called back to London to start the filming of "SpiceWorld" and to start writing and recording for the CD "SpiceWorld".
