The Ro' Must Go On!
Marriage, babies, bad haircuts, and 'that' Boyzone split. Ronan reveals all...
You've done all right for yourself since you've been in Boyzone. What's been the highlight?
There have been so many highlights of my career. It was amazing when we had our first No1 single with Words, then having a No1 album with Said and Done, then our first arena tour - there have been so many different factors.I couldn't pick any one thing! I've been very lucky. We've just kept going further and further, from Father and Son, through to A Different Beat,  Picture of You, No Matter What, we've just turned the corner and kept on going...

What's been your worst moment on stage?
I fell off the stage once and I forgot the words. Then there was this time when we were in France and there were mirrored walls, Keith ran into and window and Stephen ran straight into the glass. I nearly wet myself laughing!

What do you do when you get time off?
The other evening Yvonne and I had a really romantic night out. We just went for a quiet walk with Jack and it was just lovely. The weather was nice, too. Simple things like that keep me happy. I go home and I clean out the dogs and horses' mess, go out to the newsagents and buy the newspapers, clean the cars, make a cup of tea and just relax.

Blimey, you've got horses, too!
Yes, Yvonne is the horse fan. She has horses in her blood, so we keep them. We're not planning to race out horses (they have three), but you never know what's round the corner.

You've also got loads of famous chums...
Well I'm lucky enough to know Bono. We've had a few good nights out with U2 in Japan and Australia, they're a laugh. There are a lot of people I'd still like to work with and like to think I will work with.I'd like to work with people like Babyface or R Kelly 'cos I really admire them.

What's the maddest lads' night out you've had?
(shakes his head) I couldn't pick one! Keith had the biggest bar bill -it  was a couple of grand! But we have a joint account that we work out for

things like that!

Do you and the other fellas ever stay in and chill out together?
Yes, I'm lucky enough that when the guys come round, we just have a couple of beers and chill out, watch a movie and have dinner. We're still comfortable in each other's company and we're friends outside the band. That's quite important.

Who are you closest to in the band?
Keith and Steve. We're all good friends, but they're the two guys I'd go home with and have a laugh. I'd like to think that we'll still be close in 20 years' time.

What if you left?
If the lads were upset with me for leaving the band that's their choice, but I'd hate to think that would change the fact that we're mates. I think we'll always be friends no matter what happens.

Would Boyzone still exist as a quartet without you?
Well, I'd wish them all the best, but I don't know if that's gonna happen. I can't say. But I wouldn't want to go down with a sinking ship. I want to go out whilst we're still at the top.

How soon before Boyzone split?

I don't know how it's going to work out, I really don't know what's around the corner. You're only as big as your last single and we're doing very well at the moment, so who knows? We do talk about our futures. If we split, I think we'd make a clean break. I don't think it'd be fair if our commitments lay in other places.

What's left to achieve?
Success in America, bigger singles, bigger, better songs, duets with superstars, there are so many other things to do. I'd love to do a song with George Michael and one with kd lang.

Do you regret any of the band's images?
We've had some bad ones and I'm sure I will look back on myself and think 'Why did I ever wear that?'. I do it already, I look at pictures of me with my Tin Tin haircut and cringe!

Which one of Shane's haircuts is your favourite?
I liked the one where he had a back-combed bit pulled right to the front. They're all different in their own way, but each to their own and all that!

Does hangin' with the boys from Westlife make you feel old?
It does make me feel older because I've been through what the lads are about to go through. I tell them, 'Be nice to people on the way up,because you're sure to meet them on the way down. Treat people with the same respect you would want people to treat you with.' I think that's the best advice I can give them.

Do you ever think about how famous you are and panic?
I do all right. I have got a good family lifestyle. I've got people around me to help me with all that. I wouldn't change this for the world. It's made me a much stronger person and it's opened my eyes to what goes on in the world. We're clever enough to understand that.

What's Jack like to look after?
He sleeps and eats and cries... and sleeps and eats and cries... he's just so easy to look after. He's fantastic.

Medics Help Deaf Donna Hear Her Top Band
A TEENAGER profoundly deaf for more than 16 years spoke yesterday of her joy at hearing her favourite pop band in concert for the first time.Donna Mrozs, 17, was able to hear Boyzone after a revolutionary operation. She had lived her life in silence after meningitis nearly killed her and robbed her of her hearing when she was just six months old.Her only means of communication was sign language and she had to attend a special school for deaf children. But, after having a special device implanted behind her ear earlier this year at a clinic in Kilmarnock, Donna's hearing was restored.Proud parents Kay and Joe bought her tickets to see Irish pop sensations Boyzone play a concert in Glasgow as a special early Christmas present.Delighted Donna, of Alloa, Clackmannanshire, yesterday spoke of her joy at finally being able to hear the band. She said: "I loved it, it was great. In fact, it was even better than I thought it would be."It was very different as I was only used to feeling the vibrations before."I want to go and see Boyzone again next year, but I would love to see other bands live as well."I know mum and dad are trying to get tickets for Steps next year. That would be incredible."Joe, 50, said he and his wife Kay, 41, had decided to buy the tickets for the Boyzone show as soon as they knew the implant had been a success. He said: "When Donna regained her hearing, we decided to buy her the tickets because Boyzone are her favourite band."We managed to keep it a secret until a week before the concert and when we handed her the tickets she was absolutely over the moon."

Westlife Kian buys Ronan odd present
Westlife's Kian Egan is yet to integrate himself fully into a rock 'n' roll lifestyle - for Christmas, he's buying boss Ronan Keating "something nice for the house". The clean-living Irish youngsters have taken the pop world by storm this year with four consecutive number ones, but have managed to remain free from sex and drugs. And bandmember Egan, who is currently busy Christmas shopping in his hometown of Sligo hasn't yet got the hang of extravagant popstar presents. He said: "I think I'll get Ronan something nice for the house. I was thinking of getting him this ornament where you put water in and it has floating candles on top of it." The boys have attributed all their success to Boyzone frontman Keating, who joint manages with band with Louis Walsh. Egan said:"Between him and Louis, they've put us where we are today."

ALL SET FOR TOP OF THE TOTS AT POINT.
Hi Ronan here,
ONE of the most exciting concerts to be staged in Ireland every year is Childline - it's like Top Of The Pops coming to town because there's always a massive amount of pop groups and solo performers on the bill.Well, you'll be thrilled to learn that it's on the way back and Childline 2000 at Dublin's Point Depot on February 13 next promises to be bigger and better than anything you've seen before in this country…and that's saying something.Tickets go on sale TOMORROW MORNING at 9am in the usual outlets around the country and I can reveal here that my boys Westlife, hoping against hope for a Christmas Number One in Britain today, will be among the live entertainers on the night. Our man KEITH will also be one of the Childline presenters this year along with MTV and Live And Kicking star EMMA LEDDEN, Denise van Outen and the one and only DUSTIN - that's if he survives Christmas. The organisers have just started their big star search and already the top acts are lining up to give their services free of charge for the Irish Childline charity. In addition to my lads WESTLIFE, one of the best party bands around, the VENGABOYS, will be jetting in to Dublin to perform live on stage. Their Party Album has been a huge seller in this country. B*WITCHED, who sold out two shows at the Point this year, will be back strutting their stuff on stage.THUNDERBUGS will be among the entertainers and popular Irish band DOVE have also been secured. There are lots more acts from the fabulous world of planet pop to be announced in the coming weeks, so check out this column for up-dates.Tickets for this charity event are £22 and it's a fully-seated show, so everyone will be able to catch all the action. The organisers hope to raise $120,000 on the night.TODAY, as I mentioned, it's going to be a nail-biting experience for myself and WESTLIFE as we wait for the countdown of the Christmas charts in Britain. As I write this column, it's looking good for my lads scooping the coveted Number One spot with I Have A Dream/Seasons In The Sun. This would be an absolutely amazing feat for Westlife after such a short time on the pop scene. But it's an indication of their massive appeal and shows what a brilliant future that they have in store for them.Nicky, Kian, Shane, Bryan and Mark have been working non-stop to reach as many fans as possible this year. They also spent a lot of time on their debut album and it has been a huge success with the fans. I'm sure it will find its way into Christmas stockings as well this year.
Big appeal
OUR friend Linda Martin, who works tirelessly for the welfare of animals, is making a Christmas appeal for clothing items such as blankets and towels which the DSPCA shred to make bedding for the animals. There may be towel or laundry companies out there who can help and, if so, the DSPCA shop in Dublin's Camden Street, or phone their headquarters at 01-4935502.As you know, Boyzone and Westlife support the work of Linda and the DSPCA, and we hope you will also look after pets this Christmas and throughout the year.

MUSIC CENTURY CELEBRATION
Over the last 12 months, the nation has been asked to take part in the world's biggest music survey, when the public were asked to make crucial decisions about the best music ever made across ten categories.  Over 600,000 people took part in the voting, and winners from the poll were announced on a special celebration show which was screened on Channel 4 last month, presented by Radio One's Jo Whiley and MTV's Richard Blackwood.  And despite only having being around for the last five years of this century, Boyzone were voted into the top 20 of the best band category - the category topped by none other than the Beatles!  Not only that, but Ronan was also voted into the top 20 of the Best Male Artist category, won by Elvis Presley!  So heaven only knows what the next century holds...

CROSS YOUR HEART
It's Only Rock and Roll, a song originally recorded by old 70s rockers the Rolling Stones, has been re-recorded by a huge heap of top musical celebrities in aid of the charity Children's Promise.  The idea behind Children's Promise is that by promising to give just one hour of our time, each of us can know that we are helping to create a better future for the children of the next millennium.  And Ronan is just one of the long list of huge music stars - including the likes of The Spice Girls,S Club 7 and Jay Kay of Jamiroquai - who have joined together to record this brand new version of It's Only Rock and Roll, so if you've seen the video already then you'll have spotted Ro rocking away towards the end!The single is in a record shop near you now - so go do your bit for kids in the new millennium

IRISH ROVER
Ronan spent a day in the countryside recently to help posh clothing company Holland & Holland launch their new winter range, and help Range Rover cars launch a new model!  Ro had a go at clay pigeon shooting and took a trip in a hot air balloon before posing for the cameras in his posh new car wearing some posh new clothes!  Nice work if you can get it...

MIKEY MANAGEMENT
Check out these brand new Mikey pics, shot to accompany Mr Grahams brand new role as a talent spotting music manager!  As we announced last month, Mikey has recently launched his very own artist management company. Stoneage Management has been set up with Shane Murray and Kevin Adams, and the trio are looking for talented musicians - so if you reckon you fit the bill, send a demo tape to: Stoneage Management Ltd PO Box 7282 Swords Co. Dublin Ireland Good luck!

THE LIGHT STUFF
Ronan was very proud to switch on Oxford Street's Millennium Lights in London last month.  Taking a break from tour rehearsals, he took position to switch on the lights - which stretch and twinkle for a mile and a half - outside Selfridges' department store, where he was joined by the angelic voices of the Westminster Abbey Boys' Choir.  "It was a cold night," Ro told us after the event, "but there was a huge crowd of people there so the whole thing really got me into the Christmas spirit!"

MEN IN WHITE
Last month we were delighted to inform you about Keith and Mikey's special guest appearance in Irish musical legend Joe Dolan's new video Brilliant Disguise - and this month we have pictures of the final result!  The single went on sale in Ireland this month, and is jam packed with top Irish stars - featuring Keith and Mikey dressed up just like Joe in his trademark white suit...

STEPHEN GOES GOSPEL
Stephen took part in a very special Christmas concert a few weeks back, where he made his second star appearance for BBC Radio Two's A Gospel Celebration.  The concert was recorded at London's Islington Chapel and featured the London Community Gospel Choir with the likes of Martine McCutcheon, Beverly Knight and Connor Reeves, amongst others.  Stephen made a flying visit to perform a festive rendition of Bright Eyes, before jetting home again after a busy day filming Christmas TV interviews...

STOP PRESS!  EXTRA IRISH TOUR DATES
By adding two new dates to their string of concerts at Dublin's Point Depot in January 2000, BZ will now be in musical residence at the venue for a whole week!  If you fancy nabbing some last minute tickets, the extra dates are as follows... 10th and 11th January 2000 For further details call 1 890 888 888 (from Ireland) or 0870 243 4455 (from outside of Ireland)

Ronan be the first pop president?
Driven, rich, handsome and a consummate showbiz diplomat - the sky's the limit for Boyzone's Ronan Keating, says Neil McCormick
WHEN I was led into a chaotic backstage dining facility at Wembley Arena last week to meet Ronan Keating, it was impressed upon me that the Irish heart-throb was due on stage in exactly 45 minutes. To be more precise, he was due under the stage in 45 minutes, to take his place on a hydraulic platform on which he and his fellow members of Boyzone would be elevated through trap-doors, amid explosions and clouds of smoke, to appear before a packed house already being whipped into a hysterical frenzy by the harmony group's backing band. The point being that the schedule was tight and I was already having to compete for Keating's attention with the myriad demands of tour, managers and Keating's chic young wife, who sat next to him lovingly stroking his neck throughout (although it's hard to say if that was more of a distraction for him or me). So you can imagine that I was none too thrilled when an aide interrupted us for the second time in five minutes to suggest that there was someone waiting outside who Ronan really should go and meet. To be fair, Keating looked genuinely embarrassed, but, given the circumstances, I told him to go ahead. It really wouldn't do to keep the Prime Minister's wife hanging about in a corridor all night. "Mrs Blair's a lovely lady," he announced when he returned. "Her children are big fans, really big fans." Well, what would you expect him to say? Keating is a particularly well-groomed showbiz diplomat. In contrast to the egocentricity of so many young pop stars, he is modest personified. "I've been lucky" appears to be his personal mantra. In a half-hour conversation, he ascribed his success to good fortune at least a dozen times, apparently considering himself lucky to have joined Boyzone, who were lucky to have got on to the boy-bandwagon at the right time, and lucky to have managed the transition from teenybop fodder to the kind of mainstream appeal that has helped them sell 12 million albums. It would seem that luck also played a significant part in the number-one success of Keating's debut solo single this year (When You Say Nothing At All, from the film Notting Hill), his burgeoning television career (he has presented the MTV awards, Miss World, the Eurovision song contest and his own BBC1 talent show, Get Your Act Together) and his astute co-management of another Irish boy band, Westlife, whose recent spate of hits sees them well placed to succeed Boyzone in the teen-dream stakes. And of course he's been lucky in love, with a beautiful wife and child whom he clearly adores. With luck like his, it's a wonder Keating just doesn't take off for Las Vegas. "It's a glamorous lifestyle and a wonderful life," Keating declared. "I've loved every minute of it for the last six years and I want to continue it on for another 60 years, please God!"A blond, blue-eyed, handsome young man, Keating speaks quickly and confidently, only the incessant tapping of his right foot suggesting that he might feel any tensions at the fast-approaching deadline for his spectacular stage entry.Yet polite and accommodating as he is, interviewing him can be a frustrating experience. He has the politician's knack of diverting the conversation to his own agenda, and is inclined to broad, innocuous statements and well-meaning platitudes. A question about the increasingly well-oiled marketing machine behind the Nineties teen-pop explosion was blandly parried with the old chestnut about how wonderful it was for "young people" to have something of their own because "it's better than being on the street doing drugs". I wasn't aware it was such a cut-and-dried choice. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Keating does go into politics some day. His modesty cannot quite disguise the fierce sense of ambition that has driven him to achieve so much, so young. Although this veteran of the boy-band scene has been in the public eye so long you could be forgiven for thinking it was time his group changed their name to Manzone, he is only 22. "I'm getting old for this game, aren't I?" he chuckled.Keating was only 16 when he joined 300 hopefuls at an audition in Dublin in 1993, where show-band manager Louis Walsh was attempting to assemble Ireland's first boy band. These days, when the city is hailed as a cultural hot spot and Irish stars such as B*Witched and the Corrs regularly grace the covers of Smash Hits magazine, it is hard to imagine just how unlikely the prospect once seemed of a glamorous pop sensation ever hailing from the Emerald Isle"Dublin's become so cosmopolitan now, it's fantastic. But it wasn't six years ago," said Keating."It's unbelievable how quick it happened and it's probably half our fault. It was very difficult for us to begin, because we got such a hard time. We were ridiculed, laughed at and slagged off. The way the Irish were it was always rock'n'roll and the drink. The sweetness and innocence of pop music was a million miles away. We've travelled the world now but firstly we travelled Ireland, in a white Transit van, doing all the crap nightclubs and getting cigarette butts and bottles of beer thrown at us. But we just stuck in."In the middle of a sell-out arena tour, including a remarkable string of five nights at Wembley, Keating sounded oddly nostalgic about these humble origins. "It was difficult, but I think it made us stronger, and we look back at it now as the best days of being in this band, the most innocent and naive times. After that the politics emerged and egos emerged and it all just turned into a rat race, really. That's what really happens when it starts to get big."The teen scene is populated by youngsters who want to be stars at any cost, and Keating was a typical wannabe. Before joining Boyzone he sang Nirvana and U2 covers in a band who took their name from an obscure Beastie Boys track. "It was the other side of the book from hopping around the stage in tailored suits, but I wanted to be in any band if it meant being successful," Keating admitted. "I love pop music, every form of popular music. You know, U2 is pop music to me."An increasingly accomplished songwriter, Keating spoke admiringly of the craft of pop, using the word gimmick as if it was the highest form of praise. "It's very difficult to come up with something clever in a song that people can listen to once on the radio and be singing it all day.And that's what it's about, that's what has people buying records." His remarks were peppered with sales statistics and marketing strategies, baldly outlining his hope that the latest Boyzone single, Every Day I Love You, would drive their greatest hits album, By Request, back up the album charts because "Christmas is the massive market, that's when the big guns come out."It is easy to see why Louis Walsh involved his ambitious young protégé in helping launch Westlife. "I suppose it seems a bit bizarre," Keating conceded of his management sideline. "It's a lot of fun and it's a learning process. I keep my eyes open and listen to everything. A lot of people don't do that. They get themselves surrounded by 20 bodyguards and never see what actually goes on in this business."A calm centre of a storm of backstage activity, Keating clearly has his eyes on the prize. When a tour manager reminded him that it was 1 minutes to showtime and he still had to change into his costume,Keating nodded pleasantly. "I'll be with you in a minute," he said. "I've just got to go and say hello to a sick child."

WHO'LL BE THE BIGGEST SOLO STAR…RONAN OR STEVE?
Boyzone are not splitting up. Well, not in the near future anyway. They're doing Spice Girls and splitting off to do solo projects and give each other a breather. But they have made it clear that BZ.aren't going to be around forever. So when it happens, which of the fivesome will be the global megastar…? You see when Take That split up everybody expected Gary Barlow to be the solo success story and the rest to struggle. But instead it's been Robbie who's hogged the headlines and left Gary trailing waaaaay behind. We asked people to give their opinion in the Ronan versus Steve debate.

Lesley Grant PR Boss
"There1s no doubt that Ronan wins hands down when it comes to presenting himself. He is Mr. Nice Guy, well, they both are, but Ronan does more of the interviews. That's where Robbie Williams used to score very highly because he was a good interview and Ronan is too. I think a lot of the public have shared in Ronan's agonies and ecstasies over the years. I remember people used to think, 'Aaah, sweet', when he admitted he was still a virgin. His mum dying so tragically early was also a shock that he seemed to take in his stride. And then he had the joy of getting married and having a son. Steve's had less of a bumpy ride. He got a huge boost when he admitted he was gay and that's done him so much good. I see him as more the fan's choice. But Ronan's got the edge because he seems more confident and far more outgoing. And added to that he's got so much TV experience, presenting Miss World, the MW awards and his own show. TV could well be where his future lies.

Stuart Bidwell Record Producer
If I had to make a personal choice I'd have to say I preferred Steve's voice. Ronan's probably got the more powerful voice, but Steve's is more expressive. Ronan can get a bit cabaret at times, a bit showbiz. He's more Radio Two these days than Radio One. A lot of it will depend on who gets the best songwriting team behind them. I think Steve would be a natural for a big West End musical. I don't think he'd have any trouble at all naming the part he wanted. In fact London might be too narrow an ambition, he might want to set his sights on Broadway.

The Ideal Boyzone Christmas Present!
What do you get for the Boyzone fan who's got everything? The answer? Everything all over again. Boyzone are celebrating six years at the top of the charts by releasing a box set of all their singles. It's a special limited edition and goes on sale from November 29th, so get down the shops pronto!

Every Day I Love You
The video for the single features Shane driving Ronan, Stephen, Keith and Mikey around Prague in a creaky old Tatra car. (Bet they're glad it's not his Ford rally car.)

Boyzone have had an incredible 16 top three singles in their career. Ronan and the band have already had three number ones this year with When The Going Gets Tough, You Needed Me and When You Say Nothing At All, from the soundtrack to Notting Hill.A fourth No.1 will make it their best year ever for chart singles. They also scooped Best Album award and Best UK & Ireland act in the MTV Europe awards. So far their greatest hits album By Request has sold over million copies in UK. It spent nine weeks at No.1! Boyzone's movie is due to hit the big screen in the year 2000.

RONAN ON HIS FAMILY
"I'd very much like to have a big family. I'm sure Jack some brothers and sisters. Who knows maybe we could go for one a year…"

RONAN ON FLYING WITHOUT WINGS
"When I've got enough money I'll buy my own helicopter The one thing I'd like to do is get home as quick as I  hate having to hang round waiting for planes. Yvonne bought
me some helicopter lessons which went very well But as in all things, it's finding the time."

STEVE ON SOLO SUCCESS
"It's always nice to get recognition in your own right.  That's why I enjoyed working on Watership Down and the Abba covers album. Even it is in yellow and you can hardly see it!"

Award for Boyzone's Stephen
And despite the disparaging nature of some of the awards, there was genuine warmth towards Boyzone's Stephen Gately, who won Hero of 1999.The singer announced in June that he was gay and had a boyfriend, which could have upset his millions of young female fans while he was at the height of his career. But they rallied round and flooded the Boyzone website with messages of support, which was also reflected in the awards, which are voted for by readers of Smash Hits magazine. The singer was delighted to receive it, and appeared to be very moved by the occasion.Dozens of artists received awards at the event, which was presented by pop group Steps and attended by thousands of screaming fans.

I WANT TO ADOPT SAYS BOYZONE'S GAY STEPHEN Exclusive
By Rav Singh Deputy Bizarre Editior
Boyzone's gay singer Stephen Gately last night revealed he is desperate to adopt a child. The star and his boyfriend Eloy De Jong long to settle down and bring up a baby together.Stephen said "If there's a way open to adopt i'd do it.  I'd love to give a kid an oppertunity."The pair hope to raise the child in Ireland and Holland where they have homes. Last night the British Agencies For Adoption And Fostering could see no reason why Stephen could not adopt.A spokesman said: "When they do decide to adopt, only one of them can apply. "They are not married so only on name can go on the list and have parental responsibility." Meanwhile Stephen, who announced to the world that he was gay exclusively in the Sun, has also confirmed that he was never forced to come out.He says in the new issue of Attitude magazine "The Sun has been great,it's really helped me."Since Stephen made his courageous announcement, Boyzone have attracted a huge gay following who flock to all their concerts.Stephen and the rest of the chart topping band kick off the London leg of their UK tour on Monday.  Tickets for the concerts sold out within in hours when they went on sale earlier in the year.Stephen said "I just love performing on stage - nothing can beat it."

Britney: hot favourite for record of the year
The shortlist for the Record of the Year has been announced, with Britney Spears currently 2-1 favourite to win in a massive TV phone poll which takes place on Saturday. Not far behind is Ronan Keating with ‘When You Say Nothing At All’, currently at 7-2. There's no nomination for Boyzone, who won last year, but Westlife are nominated for their hit track, ‘Flying Without Wings’. Most of the shortlisted acts are pop acts and Britney Spears says that there's one band to thank for that: "It’s really amazing how like four years ago pop wasn’t around at all, and I think the Spice Girls and a lot of the boy groups coming out really opened the door for me. It’s good for me", she told Radio 1. Also in the running are ATB, Martine McCutcheon, S Club 7, Eiffel 65, Vengaboys, Mr Oizo, Lou Bega and Christina Aguilera. Christina says that it's the icing on what's become a very big cake this year: "Absolutely amazing. At times it’s a bit surreal, you know, ‘coz you go from like wanting this dream and praying for it so badly to just all of a sudden having all these things that come true for you", she told Radio 1. "Even meeting certain idols that I’ve had for a long time now,you know, being in their environment now, being a part of it. To walk down the street and get recognised or sign an autograph. Just little things like that make it just so worthwhile", she says. "You know, know that you’re inspiring people and having fans out there - not only in your home country, but all over the world. It’s pretty cool." Others nominated include Ricky Martin, who’s looking good at 5-1. The Latino hunk’s sold over three quarters of a million copies of his nominated track, ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ in the UK. Shania Twain’s at 10-1, Macy Gray’s at 16-1, Shanks & Bigfoot are there at 25-1, Phats & Small for ‘Turn Around’ are at 40-1, and TLC for ‘No Scrubs’ are currently at a disappointing 66-1. Phone voting will take place on Saturday night at 5.30. The 20 acts will then be whittled down to 10 for the final which is on 11th December. Organisers are hoping that everyone nominated will play on the night and rumours are that Jennifer Lopez is so desperate to come over to play she's spending millions of pounds on an elaborate performance of ‘If You Had My Love’ - she’s lagging behind at a mere 80-1. Whitney Houston's ‘My Love Is Your Love’ and Alice Deejay's Better off Alone’ bring up the rear - both at 100-1. Ronan, who was playing Manchester with Boyzone on Tuesday night, had only a few choice words to say: "Please God, please God, please God.Thanks a million!", he said.
