UZHAVAN
Uzhavan was a an experimental kind of movie by Kadhir based in rural settings.Prabhu and Bhanupriya were cast together for the first time with Sujatha in a very subdued role.Rambha who later went on to become one of the star heroines made her debut in this movie.
The film had six songs by Rahman of which "Pennalla Pennalla" won the hearts of many mainly due to S.P.B's splendid rendering of the song."Maari Mazhai" brought out Rahman's prowess in composing folk music also.The song 'Kangalil Enna Eeramo' is an all-time melody and one of Rahman's favourite songs.The movie did very badly at the box-office in spite of being released on a 'Diwali day'.
