After their first album "Renko", with Coen Paulusma as the singer, Jeroen Kleijn joined the band on drums. Right now the fun really started. Their first EP was called "I could never love you", which now is a collector’s item. The EP was the ‘NME Single of the week’, but they didn’t sell many copies. Later in 1994 the EP "Come Around" is released. The press is very enthousiastic and they even have a gig in MTV’s Most Wanted with Ray Cokes (where is he now?). Daryll-Ann is supported by a small but loval fanbase.

1995 is the year of the album Seaborne West. Just like the EP’s released on the label HUT. The album is really good but it didn't bring the band exactly what they wanted. The band is now supported by a steady amount of die-hard fans. Over 10.000 copies are sold, but this is not enough for a major like HUT, and Daryll-Ann has to find a new label.

The new label Excelsior doesn’t hesitate to contracts the band. They go back to the studio. May 1996 we have an historical event: The release of the best album of all time: "Daryll-Ann Weeps" 16 songs you just can’t live without. As usual the press is very enthousiastic. It is impossible to dislike this album. The undergroud of Holland is addicted to the band, but still they can’t get their heads above the ground.

In the beginning of 1998 Daryll-Ann plays the songs of The Byrds, for the Marlboro flashback tour. They just Turn Turn Turn. The next album is planned for August 1999. They will record it without the drummer Jeroen Kleijn and bass player Jeroen Vos. Personally I think this is very unfortunate, but we might be surprised, like we're always surprised by this one band

Finally: The release of the new Daryll-Ann album. The name is Happy Traum and contains 14 new songs. The influences of the Byrds-flashback are very obvious. In the Platomania we read: This is the perfect pop-album. Do you think so too? Listen to Happy Traum!!
