The first international succes for Pavement is the release of the noisy "Slanted and Enchanted" album. But the real breakthrough is in 1994 with the album "Crooked rain, crooked rain" Singer Steven Malkmus sings like he falls asleep all the time. The band creates their own special sound. No-one can understand how someone can write these perfect Pavement(statement)-songs. The single "Range Life" is a big succes. We can see the video many times on MTV.

The new album is called "Wowee Zowee" The album contains ‘more of the same and other excentric songs’. The fans can’t get anough of the new Pavement-songs, but the press is a little bit sceptic about it. The 1997 album "Brighten the corners" is as beautiful as Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. Also 12 songs, and it is hard to find a bad song on it.

Blur’s Damon Albarn tells everyone how much he likes Pavement, and Pavement reaches nr. 40 in the English charts for 1 week. They are very proud of it. Pavement is also famous because of their live-performances. I hope they will go on as long as possible
