12-6-98..Well that's it. The last show has come and come and we
are now dead. As you may know if you were there, Terry
refused to play the show, so Kevin from the Imports
filled in. It was a good time. We would like to thank
all the bands we ever played with and everyone who
ever came out to see us or supported us in any way...We
still have a couple cd's and demos left...if anyone is
interested, e-mail us...Keep on P-Rockin. Non-Stoppin.
*The Skanks*
10-15-98.Well hello everyone...we are still defunct, but we are
playing one last show on November 28th at the club with
Blane (possibly the best band in buffalo), Soupastar,
Kid Gorgeous, and the Budgets. So go and rock out and
see us off. We also finally got the Cheapskate Comp's
They are $6 and you can either get them from us or send
an e-mail about them if you want to get them by mail.
9-25-98..As you can see from the main page, the Skanks are done.
It has been thought of for awhile, and today Terry
officially quit. The band was going in a direction that
he didn't want to go. (I'm seeing a pattern) Instead of
looking for a new drummer, we decided to call it quits.
So fare thee well. We will still have the Cheapskate
Comps on sale for anyone who wants them, and i think
there are still a few demo's laying around. Also if the
Atom and his Package show still is goign to happen, we
will be playing that as a farewell show...and who
knows, maybe we'll try this again sometime. Buh-Bye.
9-11-98..Well I don't know what's going on with Atom and his
Package. The shows been put in the hands of DC
Connections. Sorry to everyone that went to the show on
the 29th and realized that we weren't there. I got sick.
I got word from Cheapskate records that the compilation
will be out in early October.
8-26-98..Well I added a link to Terry's Tick Page today. Also we
are in the mists of settign up a show wth Atom and his
Package in October. Hope to see you at the show
Saturday.
8-17-98..The band that was TBA is also known as What's Up Chuck.
8-9-98...Here's the info on the show on the 29th. It's us, The
Imports, Bonus and one more TBA. It's at The Club
(formerly Laboom) at 3036 Seneca St. in West Seneca.
The show starts at 5 and it's $6.
8-4-98...Another delayed entry. Well we're playing this
saturday, August 8th, at the Hamlin House. On 432
Franklin St. at 7pm and it's $4. Sorry it's so late.
Also on the 29th, we're playing at Annie Mays in West
Seneca. I'll list more about that when I find out.
7-20-98..Sorry i didn't post this stuff earlier, but it's been a
hectic couple of weeks. Here's what's happened since
the last entry. The show on the 14th never happened, so
noone missed anything. We went back to Atomic Gardens
and recorded "Fair Grounds" (formerly Usagi Yojimbo)
and re-recorded the vocals for "No Exit" for the
Cheapskate Records comp (How To Stretch A Dollar), which
Should be out by the end of August. At the studio, we
learned that Atomic Gardens will be closing it's doors
on August ninth...it will be missed. I put up some new
picts. We will be sending out tapes to various labels
in the next week or so also.
7-2-98...Anyone who didn't go to the show yesterday missed out.
This show had it all; blood, Jason's bass was broke in
two, one of Terry's cymbles was destroyed, AC-DC was
played, and a certain hardcore singer was running around
wearing nothing but the socks on his feet. The blood's
been clotted, Jason should have his bass fixed shortly,
Terry's cymbol now serves as a china and our little
naked friend excaped with little more than a chill.
Now onto the real news. If we can find a place to host
then show, we will be playing with Koan (from Cincinati)
Angels in the Architecture, and Bethlam on July 14th.
Also two new songs have been written (Ushabi Yojimbo
and HC 4 C 8 dinkdinkdink). Ushabi Yojimbo is goign to
be put on a compilation being put out by Cheap Skate
Records. And that is the news for now.
6-17-98..Well unforntuatly the festival in PA has been cancelled
so all you kids out there won't have to flock to see us.
But we do have a final list for the show on July first.
The Broadways we're goignto play, but they cancelled so
here's the list. The Skanks, Bonus, The Imports, The
Suburbanites, Never 2 Late, and the newest addition
to the Buffalo punk-emo scene....LANCASTER. Featuring
The Skanks very own Jason on guitar and vocals and
Kevyn on drums.
6-9-98...I finally got two sound samples put up, so now anyone
who hasn't heard us can. The show on saturday was a
good one. Like always, the equipment broke, but we
played well with little injury. As for the show on July
1st, the bill is...The Skanks, Bonus, The
Suburbanites, and two others. More info to come.
6-2-98...Wow, two entries in two days. I found out last night
that o-city bombers cancelled, so a different band will
be playing, possibly Blaine. Also we're playing a show
at the Mercury Theatre on July 1st with Blaine and a
few other bands. I'll list them when I find them out.
6-1-98...Well we've changed the layout of the page, and now we
have this news section, where we'll post any
information concerning the band, with dates and all
that jazz. So for the first installment i'll bring you
up to date with all that's been happening recently.
First of all our tape, "Kooler Than Elvis", was
released about 2 weeks ago and the first 100 copy
pressing sold out in just over a week, and we're
waiting for the next pressing. The tapes are $3 in
person, or $4 by mail for shipping. Secondly we are
goign to be on a Buffalo Punk
Compalation that some kids from the area are putting
out. "Dreams Revisited" will be the song onh the comp.
We're also playing a show At the American Legion in
Alden, NY on Saturday June 6th. The show starts at 7PM
and it's $3. The bill is Stompin Cats, O-City Bombers,
The Skanks, and 2 others which i'm not positive who they
are. Also we have beena sked to play a two day campout-
festival for the ARA in Meadsville, PA. All i know about
that show so far is that it's the 3rd weekend in August.
Well now we should be totally caught up with all of the
info on the band as of current.
