Voodoo Music Fest 2003

Voodoo Music Experience 2003

I really lucked out this past weekend. Through my association with OffBeat magazine, I was able to work their booth at Voodoo Fest for free tickets and VIP passes. I brought Fred along for the ride...who better? I brought a camera with me on Sunday, and here are the results. QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE

Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen (nice suit, Troy!)
Nick Oliveri and Josh Homme Here you can almost see drummer Joey Castillo More of the same...Josh, Joey, and Troy Nick, Josh, and Troy (on keyboards) Nick and Josh rocking out...sharp picture!
Nick Oliveri all by his lonesome It was the camera and light, but Josh has a spiritual look in this one Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees) joined them onstage for 'Hanging Tree' Mark with the QOTSA boys again Nick, Mark, and Josh under cool rock-star lighting

SUPAGROUP

Benji and Chris Lee, brothers in rock
Leif Swift on bass, looking a lot like Lemmy The boys in Supagroup ripping it up onstage...Benji's got that Angus Young 'possessed' look to him Benji Lee tears into a solo on the runway
Benji's rock star pose...catching this made me feel like Bob Gruen Chris Lee preaching the rock gospel to Voodoo's morning crowd The brothers Lee kick it into gear, closing out Supagroup's Voodoo set

A PERFECT CIRCLE

James Iha, Twiggy Ramirez, Maynard Keenan, Billy Howerdel, and Josh Freese...no, I don't see them either

Okay, it was already dark by the time APC got onstage. I couldn't get really close to the stage, and the darkness was really working against my camera. This is the clearest shot I could get. Still, it was an incredible set...Troy Van Leeuwen even joined them onstage for "Judith"!
