Welcome to the new section of the ever expanding PAY*OLA website, where I, Jamesy Nicholl, will fill you in on the madness that is PAY*OLA world !!!
What have PAY*OLA been doing I hear you all ask... Well, we have basically gone to ground
to plot our bombardment on every record company in the Northern hemisphere, and who knows
maybe even south of the Equator too. Don't worry we intend to start touring Ireland very soon,
to promote our new release, the Stick Two Fingers Up EP. There are also English dates in the
pipeline.

We have just returned from a 5 day recording stint in Liverpool. We recorded two new songs (What Drives You & Climbing Up The Walls) in the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts 'LIPA'. These songs are not intended for release, but depending on the quality we may release them as a limited edition cassette single. The vibe we got in the studio this time round was amazing and this definitely comes through in the songs, they rock like f£$%!!!! Both tracks have not been finally mixed yet, so watch this space for details. |
During late October 1999 PAY*OLA recorded a documentary for BBC1 entitled 'FERRY TALES'. Basically a BBC film crew followed our adventures from a Belfast practise studio to an exclusive showcase gig at London's Sound Republic in Leicester square. They filmed us for four days, and not to be big headed about the whole thing, we rose to the occasion and performed and acted like true rock stars.., you will be proud of us I'm sure!
We have seen the edited program, and to our total relief we are glad to say that it looks bloody amazing. Originally it was intended that we would share the thirty minute show with another tale, but the producer thought that ours was to good to be crammed into fifteen minutes, so she decided to devote the whole program to us, jammy or what? And if that isn't good enough, we were told that RTE has also bought the program so now it can be seen all over the UK & Ireland. As yet there is no date confirmed for broadcasting so keep an eye on the press, but don't worry we will be advertising and promoting this our selves. Trust me you will definitely know when it is on.
